Ive never seen a beta test where the number one bug is that the game is impossible for anyone to play, untill now.
can anyone actually play this game? if so is it worth it?
Yes, it is worth it. ;)
There's a lot to explore and the gameplay is deep.
There are some balancing problems, but the patch will fix that. (e.g. Hierarchy units will only cost 50% of what they do now)

YES, it is very much worth it. The gameplay is the best i have experienced in a long time. and after the patch, it'll get even better, trust me

I haven't played it much, because I don't have alot of free time on the computer (and I'm really bad it at  ), but from what I have seen, it is definitely worth it. In fact, I have already pre-ordered

how did you get it to work?
since sega cant answer that... maybe you guys know?
Windows LIVE sucks..
talk about losing money, have to go through a mine field just to try and play
shouldn't it be simple and easy, with servers set up to play?
wow.

For the moment it isnt that worth it,expecialy that there is a 30% that you can log on to custom games, after you get in there is a 15% in a game that you will crash, some units are imbalanced and overpowered, and the worst thing about this beta is that it doesnt have any team maps, balancing just from 1vs1 battles wont work.I hope they manage to patch it up to a real beta and not alpha... also soo far, there arent many tactics to be used ingame.
Masari - use mater generators as defensive landmines against hierarchy, spam defenses and tech up to air units for easy win
Hierarchy - drop walkers very close to the enemy base and just walk over it
Novus - spam ohm bots, blade troopers and variants

Exactly, I'm not exactly computer illiterate, but it took me almost an hour with all the different setups.
SEGA, really, set up a room with a focus group of people and just watch how frustrated they get trying to navigate the confusion you've created on setup. It's ridiculous.
If this is the way that it's going to be at launch, you'll see a ton of boxes returned to the stores and word of mouth advertising saying to basically not bother.

The game itself is awesome.
The support around it is TERRIBLE.
Windows live with its monthly fee to start with, then the delay for Europe only... Pffz >_<

And there is no reason for you to say this. We Have played this but since this beta was released earlier than it should have many people had problems. Don't judge the game by the beta. It is absolutely retarded if you withdrew your preorder just because the beta is not working for you.
On top of that why would you believe none of us have played this? Check out the balancing forum... Plenty of people have played this to give feedback for it.

If you check on the forums you can find work arounds for some issues, and you will find notes that most of the known technical issues are fixed pending the patch. One of the biggest ones is the crash when clicking on custom match which has a known and tested work around http://www.petroglyphgames.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5657
A lot of the other issues are jsut a matter of patience to get in to a game for now. If not wait a few days and we should have an update on when the patch should be.
In my opinion this game is definitely worth it. I just need to find some skilled opponents so I can have more fun.

This game rules! we gotta remember this is just the beta version, it's obvious to experience some troubles... and.. yeah LIVE sucks... but if you get to make the account (which is really confusing) you wont have any problems after that... or at least i haven't experienced any...

This game is worth nothing as long as it
needs a Windows Live Account for which
you must pay. However, I hope SEGA
will think about the customers they´ll lose
and remove it, or there won´t be many
people playing it.

You prefer lamespy?
And did you know there were things like Hamachi and singleplayer campaign?

paying is not a "must"... you can create a free account (as i did, the only thing you need is an email account from hotmail) or you can get a Gold or Silver account, but then you would have to pay for it.

Windows LIVE is lame and it has the worst registration process ever.

Other games have 100% free online modes.
E.g. Battlenet. And also Gamespy is still better then Windows LIVE (which not only costs money, but also it is crappy)

Signup hassle isn't really a big issue to me. LIVE is, but I've come to accept that external ladder support will be what I'll be using :P
Game itself is great, no question.
