UAWEA Launcher Error

When I try to start the game I just get "UAWEA Launcher Error. Abnormal game exit detected."
Just after the "Universe At War: Earth Assault - Gold Build" window pops up it crashes.

I have XP, that's the only thing I can think of...

A majority of the people who purchased this game are experiencing these problems. I get that message any time I load a saved game "abnormal exit"

I guess sometime in the future a patch could be coming out to fix this. Could be in a few days, few weeks, few months. No one knows.

I suddenly don’t feel like complaining about games that delays their release date anymore.
So whining won’t much good, is there anything I can do to speed things up a bit?

I have the same problem. The game crashes right after the intro animation.

Hi Folks,

Sorry you guys are experiencing crashes. Be careful with statistics - it is easy to start thinking 'the majority' of people are experiencing issues when you hang out in troubleshooting boards ;)

For some of you the only solution will indeed be the patch (due any day, and sorry you've had to wait!), but I am sure with a little basic troubleshooting others of you will be able to get things running without having to wait.

Getting tired of waiting to play a game I bought weeks ago.

I too am having the same troubles, even with updated drivers and the new patches installed, it still gives me the launcher error when I try to open the game. I have reinstalled countless times. Deleted and reinstalled drivers. Made sure DX10 was disabled under regedit. I have XP and evga 8800gts. I feel like I have tried everything. I need help
