FFXI, great game. I suggest if you havent played it, play it. There are so many things you can do in the game, that quite possibly, you may never do them all. There are only a few aspects to the game I dislike. After about level 10, it becomes extremely dificult to gain levels solo. You will have to party with other people to gain decent xp. Also, the whole leveling train is starting to bore me. I am constantly trying to level up, just so that I can take on the story-based missions. Granted I have done about 1/4 of the missions related to the direct story, I am still wanting more and completion. Also, gaining money, gil, can be very dificult, there is no easy way to really gain money in this game. You will spend hours trying to amass large quantities of gil just so you can purchase your next weapon/armor/spells and so on.
However, most of these aspects are located in PSO as well, money is easy to get, but is pretty much worthless, the hard part is acquiring those hard to get rare items, legitly. Not exactly using dupes but actually using the real deal. In PSO, gaining levels become increasingly dificult once you reach about 130, as in it takes forever to level up. Also, even though you can play solo in PSO, you would much rather not, as in its a lot easier to get into a group and just overall more fun with other people. Overall, the same things that I do not like in FFXI are somewhat in PSO as well.
Dagger, Im on the Valefor server as well, your character wouldnt happen to be named Dagg would it?

FFXI has turn based combat with a twist based on delay of weapons and abilities. The combat system is great, the abilities are number less, and so are the jobs. Sadly besides the starting Job's the rest will be hard to get because you have to do quests. Sub Job's really add into the mix because a sub job will give you boosts stats, abilities, and such depending on what it is and it's level. The areas are vast, and pleasent to see. There is a story behind the world in FFXI but what happens in it is up to you. It is a very entertaining game, and I know all of this just from playing it once. It may seem a little hard to figure at first, but SERIOUSLY if you get it read the controls and such, and basic button commands, and about macros! Those are important. The only downside is if you play a whole lot you became vastly tired of the game and may need a break from it. One more thing about it you will NEED to make friends to get ahead. There is NO lonewolfing on that game unless you are at max level (not likely), and those people still NEED friends for battles. Unlike in other FF this game REQUIRES thinking no matter the level, and a good party to pull anything off.
