I have been having trouble with my router for 2 weeks and i havnt been online with pso. the computer can connect to verizon online with some setup my grandfather made. My GCN can authenticate a user name and password but for some reason after it authenticates i get sent to a page where verizon says it cant verify the user name and pass at this time. has anyone ever had this experience???? if so wut do i do????????? :?: :? :?

Yeah, the software Verizon gives you is very (How should I say this), bad. In fact, their Sofware isn't needed. All it is is bloat. If your PC can connect to the Internet, check these things:
Is your router configured to assign IP addresses using DHCP? If so, in the Gamecube setup, tell it to use DHCP. Also, there are two types of ethernet cables. Patch and Crossover, I think. Anyway, one of them is used comp<->comp or comp<->router.
oooooh! Maybe your router's firewall is blocking PSO's ports or something. Sorry, I am not much of a help. I have Verizon DSL, and it works perfectly...
Ummm, I am sorry, but the GC should NOT have to authenticate itself to Verizon. You really never have to do that. DSL is set up to your phone line. Even so, the GC doesn't have an option for username/password (Besides for Hunters License). When it asks you your password when you click online game, that is your HL password.

the router firewall maybe a clue but the website page setup where u input the information to set up a connection, one option to use is pppoe and u put in the username and password to connect directly.....asid from that i cant get to my router setup page for sum reason i followed the directions and did it the first time but then i followed the directions to reset it so i can go back..... and i cant get back to the setup page to set it up propery for dhcp use!!!!!1 :( :( :(

I think if you go through your router, your PC/Gamecube does not need to use PPPoE. IIRC, the router will handle that for you. On my Gamecube, I have it set to obtain it's IP address automaticaly through DNS. No proxy, unless you want to use PSOProxy, but that's another story. Also, I don't use timeout. That is basically all I did.
The Gamecube will then connect to the router, which will assign all the vital info automaticaly. Then, it should allow the Gamecube to access the outside world.
Sorry, I don't know how to help your other problem. I do not know if this works, or if it will screw up anything. But, delete the network information file in the Memory card, and maybe then it will let you set up the network settings again.
Remember, I have never done it, so it could very well mess up something. Try it at your own risk!

u got it wrong its the router setup page i cant get to so i can set it up for dhcp use not the gamecube ive been using DHCP for gamecube for all my online time. its the router, i just really wanted to get onlinewith the GCN and i thought i could do it directlybut i had those verizon problems with them giving me a message that the username and pass cant be verified at this time..... but anyway the router seems to be messed up and a piece of junk. my gramps dont know nothin bout computers and so his computer is fragged alot and he doesnt have a secure internet connection setup either so we cant connect to the internet with the router. only the gamecube can. so he decided to mess around with it and i pay the consequences the router was working perfectly it was his faulty computer that messed things up....but can PSOproxy help me?

Oh Gosh, sorry you can't get it working. I wish I could help more. I'm the type of person that is better when I am working with it.
No, sorry, PSOProxy will not help. PSOProxy is designed to transfer snapshot files, nothing else.
I would never trus my Grandparents with my computer lol! Turning on a Windows computer is a huge task for them. Booting my Linux box would be torture :).
Sorry I can't help more.

I think your best bet is to bypass the router completely and connect the GameCube directly into the modem...

I am having the same problem kinda with my router. But if your having trouble getting to the Router Setup page, try the deflaut password "admin" (Well that is the deflaut pass for my router. What kind of router do you use?)

sorry to hear that. I hope he gets it working. And when you try to access the setup page you used Internet Explorer or Netscape right? When I tried it through the AOL thing it didnt work, but it did on IE.
