Problems with connecting.

Okay, so I finally got set up for PSO episode I and II on the nintendo Gamecube.

I have a registered hunters lisence and when I click "online game" i am able to connect(I think). It shows a message and then it just sits there with the place in veiw. It's like a dome thing. It's not locked up cause the things are still moving around, but my charactor is nowhere and site and no buttons I press do anything.

You are connecting, but you have too much traffic to get a stable connection.

For Cable based connections:
Assure that you are connected as directly as possible. Keep the use of splitters to a minimum. Be sure all cords are in optimum condition.

For dialup based connections:
Be sure your line is clear. If any other phones are using the line, you will have difficulty connecting. Call waiting and forwarding can also prevent you from being able to connect. You'll have to contact you phone company or ISP for ways to get around it if this is the case.

Also, you may have trouble connecting during peak hours. If you connection is unstable, try to log on during off hours.

I have DSL

Right now it's hooked up to a router that is hooked up to the modem, so hooking the cable directly into the modem would help with my problem?

I might not have configured the network connectionscorrectly, i'll go back through the connections set up and see if that helps.

I've tried everything sort of a hammer and it still doesn't work. :/. I'm extremely disappointed with all this hassle and should probaly have just have gotten the Xbox version of PSO and signed up with Xbox live -_-'.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE CRAP IS WRONG?!?!

I don't even know if I'm even getting to the lobby. It's this giant dome thing with two trees. There's some things in the background and nothing I do on the controller does -anything-.

I'm able to connect to the sega website from the gamecube and am even able to post from it. When I ping the GC from my laptop I get a consitant response, WHY THE FRICK CAN I NOT PLAY THE GAME ONLINE THEN!!?!

Who are you using as an ISP? And what type of modem/router are you using?

Bell South is our I have DSL.

I read a few posts below that bellsouth doesn't support 3rd party applications, if that's the case then i'll kill them.

well i just wanted to add that the dome your seeing is in fact the lobby, but not the lobby thats online. its the lobby thats on your disk, and when you connect that will synchronise with the other players. so just seeing the lobby means you got connected bus as armion says the server has to much traffic and will place you in a que. you cant really do anything then other than wait till you are number 1 in the que and let inside.

just a question, when you see the lobby dus the game give a message like "line disconnected" or something like that in the lower right corner?

well this stuff isnt what im good at but i just wanted to clear that out. :wink:

having the same problem, connecting to the DNS server then has the window that tells when my HL will expire, then after that nothing. I got verizon for my DSL provider with a Westell model 2200, i connect to the website fine cause that is how i am typing this message, IDK what the @#!? is going on.

ISP: NTL
CONNECTION: DSL
ROUTER: BELKIN 802.111g wireless

anything wrong there?

edit: nvm, I had to change the screen res from 50 to 60Hz

if you have bellsouth or Westell modem u have go in expert mode and change ur setting from PPoe 2 bridge ethernet.then n game set to PPoe username=urname@Bellsouth.net then urpassword.worked for me but i get d/c d alot

Hmm... I'm having the same problem as alex4307...
Been on PSO for about 1 1/2 years now and suddenly, starting as of today, I get a problem connecting.

A window pops up telling me when my HL will expire, and then displays the text box saying "Ship Select" and after I hit the A button, I get disconnected immediately.

Error 100: Disconnected from Server. or something like that.

I was all psyched to play last night - got Hunter's License and everything okay, but I also get "kicked" right after "Ship Select". I gave up after a while and chalked it up to a server issue. I guess that wasn't a bad idea judging by the above post.

I'm using Verizon DSL. I may have to check out what Xaltrn suggested...
