Does PSO Episode I and II Plus work with AOL or not

I have an important question that i hope you guys can help me with. I have PSO episode I and II but i also have Dial Up AOL so im screwed but I have heard of this new version PSO I and II Plus does it work with AOL or did i just screw my self out of 30.00 by buying a modem adapter.

Episode 1&2 doesn't work, however Blue Burst will! while that's only in Japanese right now, it should be in english some time this spring.

...also, $30 for a modem adapter? You got ripped. I've seen em for $15 cause no games use em.

The FAQs for Eps1&2 and Eps 1&2+ says this:
How do I know if my ISP is compatible with Nintendo GameCube? Will AOL work?
The PSO subscription service is available to all GameCube-compatible ISPs (Internet Service Providers). There are known connectivity problems with some ISPs, such as America Online. Ask your ISP if they use "Point-to-Point Protocol" (PPP). If they do, you should be able to play PSO Episode I & II online via your GameCube.
