I've been told that as a commander, if I go to battle and kill an enemy, that I then get no valor points towards TC even if all squad members survive. I was told I get the points for what ever type of kill it was instead (sniper, def, sol, etc). Anyone know if this is myth or truth?

Greetings to one and all,
Many of you out there with the golds currently being inaccessible due to certain booster squads have apparantly been debating on whether or not to grab a valor or two. Currently at the time of this writing, I posess three valors (HVG,SOL,SNP) and am working on the CMD,SCT, and DEF valors simultaneously. I'm also currently sitting at over 3,000 hours of gameplay on this game, and would like to offer any of my knowledge to those of you out there that would like to acquire valors without the discovery curve that I had to go through to get those valors that I am now acquiring and those that I already have. For many of you, this information will prove useless or undesirable since valors have little indication of a player's true skills or you may feel that they will come eventually with enough gameplay. This is a very true and accurate viewpoint. I am however, posting this regardless to ensure that those that are seeking this information will have a source to go to. I am also trying to keep this to a minimum length for those that suffer from a short attention span.
A Gamer has already covered the points on each roletype and the general basics, which I will electively not cover in this guide. What I am going to go in-depth into though are reccomended builds along with any specific tips that I am able to think of on each roletype. Utilization of both guides simultaneously would provide maximum effect to anyone that is wanting to take this long and sometimes mind numbing quest for what is probably the peak outside of the gold achievements themselves.
There are a few things that you need to know before launching on this quest.
1. The quickest way to a valor without crossing the large boundary known as boosting is to grind the a.i.
2. Valors require at minimum 6 weeks for the fastest and up to almost 6 months for the harder ones to acquire
3. Points may be acquired by taking on humans and given adequate time you will acquire the valor
4. Prepare to be annoyed, frustrated and bored simultaneously. You will be repeating the same task over and over ad infinitum
5. The maximum rt level is 100, not 50.
6. The point level for a valor is 2,065,000 (yes that is two million sixty-five thousand)
I'll go more in-depth with each valor as I go through this list, so let's get started.
I.Command Valor
Command valor is the only one that is dependent upon a part to be able to activate: the NA maker. An NA maker is required to be able to utilize these roletype points. Size has absolutely no bearing on the amount of points that are acquired from this item, it instead depends on how many survive the match. The more you have with you, the more points that you will be able to acquire. Likewise, if you are grinding against the ai solo, it is in your best interest to have an na maker equipped as often as possible. This valor is one that cannot really be hammered upon, but is best taken little bits at a time. The more often you have this equipped (even if running solo) the better.
II.Soldier Valor
Probably the second most mind numbing valor, the more people that you have with you on this one, the better as well. If grinding solo, I advise running a pilescout. Grab an na maker and acquire combasses as you roll along, then get as close as humanly possible to your target. The closer you are the better. Expect anywhere from between 400 - 500 rt points per loadout if running solo. If you are planning on running with friends, then I advise running a standard quad cannon build. You are guaranteed far more points this way, and if your compatriots are willling to surround themselves around your target, then this will also definitely allow for a massive amount of defender points as well (make sure that they are within 150m before termination of target for maximum effect)
III.Scout Valor
This is beyond the shadow of a doubt, guaranteed to make your brain go absolutely numb. Take it from me, try your best not to do this one exclusively. Find a map that goes at least to letter "o" combass and just snatch and run. Toss on an na maker for additional tc points, or just grab combasses as you go. See a gamer's website for scout point information on scout point distribution. Just try and grab combasses as you go rather than going all out on this as it's own roletype. It will save you so much in the way of trial and tribulations later on.
IV.Defender Valor
Granted, this can be worked on solo, but it's about as much fun as a root canal. Try to get your squadmates to help you out with this. If you are able to get a full room of 6 helping you out, you will only need to take out 2 ai hounds if your teammates are surrounding the a.i. to be able to acquire the maximum 3000 rt points. I use a treaded grenade/heat rocket with a small na when working on this. You will also acquire soldier points along while using this method. Sniping works well also since the range is dependent upon your teammates' distance from the a.i. rather than your own.
V.Sniper Valor
Sabertooth build is the go to build for this. Try and snag a wide open map for this, and the farther, the better. Focusing your efforts on range and accuracy, to garner the top 3000 pts. per loadout, you're looking at maximum 2 extra partners with you.
VI.Heavy Gunner Valor
6 packs and snipers have become the go to builds for this. Mind numbingly simple: shoot the base. Try and run an na as well.
Grinding is boring, repititous, mind numbing, slogging through sludge. Trust me, if anyone knows this, it's me. But if you want those valor medals quickly for whatever reason, this is the best way to go about them.

Now, just in case someone doesn't feel like clicking. I'll put it bluntly since I'm in a bad mood. You've been lied to. It's just that simple. You'll get your tc points. If you kill a hound within 1 grid of your location you get tc and soldier points. If you kill a hound within 150 meters of another hound, a combass that you own, or the base, you get tc and defender points. If you kill a hound 300 meters or more from your location you get tc and sniper. If you shoot their base, you get tc and defender. If you take a combass, you get tc and scout. Go smack your friend in the back of the head and tell him "Asher says you're being an idiot, knock it off". Now to get my coffee and go to work.

It feels good don't it. Anyway, I find that no matter what, i always go into combat as a commander. CMD/Sniper works well because I can stay at a safe range. I also go CMD/Defender, with a heavy Cockpit and a bunch of shotguns. Stupid? Maybe, but i like it anyway.
