Maintenance for Thursday December 15

Hello,

Maintenance will begin at the regular 10am GMT-8 time. We will be removing the double experience bonus (:() as well as weekly maintenance duties. I hope everyone enjoyed the special week, we hope to do similar things in the future.

Since this topic usually gets some attention while the servers are down, I think it would be fun to share your stories of the Doubld XP week. How many levels did you earn? What quests did you find the most effective? What unforseen events happened as a result? etc.

I had the opportunity to have my pso butt handed to me in Phantasmal World 4 over and over and over and .... The quest is a lot of fun, but very difficult (read: frustrating) at times. :)

I was grinding Point of Disaster for the 200k+ exp it was giving. I meant to get to level 200 using that, but I just got lazy. I went from level 191 to 194,which is alot of exp in itself anyway.

Id love to get a game with you sometime (or even see you in-game for that matter. >_>) before Im done. We'd mop the floor with those Ill Gills Clumseh. 8)

I think it was great, I put 6 lvls on my Hucaseal, and about 12 lvls on my new char. I definately did a lot of ep4 quests to maximize it.

Thanks to whomever came up with the idea and orchestrated it.

I actually kinda enjoyed double exp more than the double drop rate. But thats just me though.

i did get my hucaseal up from about 40 to 108. my ramarl gained a level and my fonewm gained 2. it was fun but i think i played a little out of my league sometimes because i died a lot which was really frustrating, making me feel like i was wasting the 2x.

also, i was a little bummed that the 2x was durring finals week so i didnt get to spend as much time playing as i wanted. oh well. it was a great surprise to get the 2x.

i think it'd be an even better idea to make the month before PSU 2x exp AND drops (or maybe 5x :P). this would make me feel a little bit better about BB dying off when PSU comes out.

i found LHS was the best, my humar gained 2 lvls, 136-138, by raanger androied thin (lol) gain 24 lvls nd my force gained 7 lvls
my account ran out after 3 days of double exp though as i decide to quit as im goin on holiday for a long time and i need to get bck into the real world more.

OMG....... i did so many Lost Heat Swords i had to stop and do something different!..... but as a result..... my hunter got about 15 lvls, my force got over 30 lvls, and my ranger over 20! not to mention the rare findings!!!

Had finals here too, but with creative time management(ie: not sleeping and slacking on studying), I was able to power my new Ramarl during lots of wee hours of the morning Heat Swords(I often wonder the total number of Heat Swords done by the PSO community). Went from 65 to 90 in two days. I remember it took the same amount of time for my Racast to go from 80-90 the weekend before we got Ultimate.

I ended up doing Vhard HS even after I hit 90 because it was giving me about 45k for 8 minutes of work.

I even took my ole Redria back into VHard temple to do some hunting for random luck with God/Power and Presents since the exp might be noticeable, but no luck.

The 2x exp was nice. It made trips without rares less frustrating.

Grinding my RAmarl from level 193-194 something to level 200 using Ult PoD, then getting my HUcaseal to level 68 in about 18 hours after remaking it the other day :)

It would help me much with my Vivienne and Frozen Shooter hunt.

I leveled with my Fomarl a lot.
I started from like level 73.
And I ended up at level 116.
I was aiming for level 120 though, but I was too lazy to play that much. :roll:

This week has been incredible profitable for my new RAmar. I got it from a level 30 up to a level 89. :) Got my full RAmar kit in a trade with Sitka which I am loving so much right now. I found EP2 to be the most fun, especially PW2 :) But LHS was good as always for speed and experience. I hope more events like this are held int he future, as it sure did attact my interest back into the game, just when it was fading. Nice work Clumsy :)

Yup, I had finals as well >.< Wow! JP version got 5x exp! Just asked a friend of mine who is still playing it and he said the same thing.

Yeah, I would like a rare monster thing or droprate increase since I was only able to play for 2 of the 7 days due to studying for finals. Yes, I enjoy PSO but not to the point of failing out of college.

Well it’s finally over...

I lv up from 108 to 128 during this week :) . Did many LHS runs on ULT but also Lost Spinner, PW2, Towers ( :shock: ) during this period. But i think the best to lv up was LHS, we could do it fast and get between 110-120k. My final run ended when was 2 minutes left for maintenance.

Did my best to enjoy as much as possible this week, to get the levels I should have got during all this months I’ve played (7 months, since Beta days). At least have been doing all quests, Bmode, Cmode and offline quests etc, since start. Looking forward to more new quests and to finish some other things I’ve left during this week.

i been very busy :D got my Racaseal from 70 to 90, my HUcaseal from 50 to 63, and decided to quit my HUcast and make a FOnewearl, ehich i got from level 1 to 78 in 4 nights 8) (with delays,interruptions) and also managed to bump up my main character a couple of levels. also gave PW#4 a go with team mates but the game crashed on me and the other 3 got dead :shock:

Didn't touch Charlie this week. In fact I barely spent any time in the main game as I've been getting the hang of Ep II C-Mode... HOWEVER, I levelled my alternates, although I didn't spend very long on them.

Gypsy, FOnewearl, ~L10 => L50
Charlie X4, RAcaseal, ~L10 => L70

The xp rate was insane for starting a new character. My little X4 totally pwned Lost Soul Blade with the help of a S-Rank Needle with hell special. I spent the first 10 or so levels of VH in Lost Heat Sword instead as the special was becoming increasingly less effective against Sinows and I was taking a severe beating before offing them all, but once I toughened up it was back to the Mines.

My HUmar went from 172 to 186 (which was thrilling to say the least), my FOmar went from 111 to 123 and my poor, neglected RAcast even got a few levels in there too. On top of all that, I succesfully managed to write 4 exams while only studying for 1 of them.

I would have to say, thank God double exp is over. It was fun and all, but now I can just do runs without feeling stupid for doing them. It kinda made me feel like I was cheating, most runs had the level up music happen at some point.

Kinda made me feel that level 200 isn't as impressive as it used to be.

Oh and by the by, srank PING NEEDLE.

I did a lot of Point of Disaster runs with my teammates, we did well over 30 of them. I also did some 9-8 runs. I went from level 171 to 180.

Well I gained a total of 5 million exp this week and went from level 128 to almost 145. I found it best to do everything you could on ultimate mode. I started this double exp week with a 5-1 through 6-5 run. Took about 5 hours with my party and we got a total of 1.5 million exp and none of us died. Then for the rest of the week I did 1-1 to 4-1 and did all the solo quest for episode 1. Basically, the double exp made me do all these quest XD

LHS and lots of it for lowbies, COD and lots of it for highbies. I got about 300k per go from a full run of COD. Incredible.

I have a favourite way to describe PW4, and I can do it with four words;

Wall to wall cheese.

I suggest 2x rare enemy appearance rate. Without the pipe trick most of the rare enemy drops are almost impossible to get. Haven't seen a Hildetorr in absolutely ages. :(

If ST did decided to do the 2x rare monster rate, I don't think that would effect Kondy. Isn't he determined on a seperate apperance rate? Hence the ability to up his % of apperence by 1% per so many runs. So the question would be would ST 2x Kondy too, or just the rare enemies? if not at all?

Oh, no real cool stories, ult PoD was awesome! Didn't get to play much, had other responsibilites (im not in school). Got my Ramarl from 70 to 77 and my Humar from 120 to 123.

Awesome, 2x exp was great. Got my FO up a lot, my HUmar up a tad and actually only gained about 2 levels on Ruby. I think it was a great early christmas gift, though TTF will be even nicer.

Also Clumsy, do we have any word on whether or not the prizes will be coming back to TTF too? On Dreamcast getting SS (either way) could result in some really nice weapons/rings, though I know it was changed slightly on GC. Will there be BB specifics, or should we be looking for a GC/Xbox port of the quest? Either way, TTF in itself will be great for leveling, but I just figured I'd see if those fun prizes will be returning too.

Best 2x moment: Dying from sheer stupidity on Ult Shambertin, and managing to level at the end anyway. :)

I say taht this could not have come at a worst time seeing how it was finals week for many of us. I say taht you should have done this on maybe the first week of january or something ... but then again maybe the 2x exp was good in getting us to make up for our loss in time from studying ... for those of us who do study.

I say that for the 1 year anniversary, you should release a make your own quest system. You'd have to spend meseta to purchase the ability to place monsters on a map. (ex, 50,000 per hildebear for a forest map and 500,000 for a boss.)

My FOmar gained 3 levels, my HUcast gained 1 level, and my RAcast gained 9 levels.

The quests I did for this were LHS, LSB, 1-3, and PW1. Woulda done some Point of Disaster but not enough of my team mates were on.

The FOmar I've always wanted to make. Started at level 3 and got to level 88. And because ST picked the WORST week for a 2x exp event, I was only able to play Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights while studying for/taking finals.

Oh well, he'll be rockin the hawt Rupika in 2 levels now 8)

why not offer x2 exp and maybe x4 exp as maximum attack prizes in the next event I'm sure that would be a motivator for more people to play so we could reach the 60mil target still keep the x2 and x5 drop rates too, and maybe increase the amount of rare monsters. I really enjoyed MA2 I even took a week off work to increase my standing in the rankings (worth it I got to 18.) I can't wait for MA3 and prizes like that would make it all the sweeter also I think you should have an extra prize for the #1 in the individual rankings something really worth aiming for Like a unreleased Item so he/she is the only player with it!
