Fanboy alert. Well not that much of one because this one gave me a choice. I love the Dreamcast too, its my fav console of all time and Gamecube follows it closely followed by MegaDrive (Genesis), N64 then SNES, then X-Box and ps2 is somewhere below that becuase it doesn't appeal that much to me I like the console but there are others that I get more enjoyment from

PS2 - Game Library
XBX - Hardware specs
GCN - Games and power.

Though the DC did rock.

Dreamcast All day... no system that's out right now can touch the DC in terms of quality.

only systems that were better than the Dreamcast were the SNES, NES (by default), and The Genesis.

Well yes, though I like the other consoles, and you should give them a try, chances are you'll like one of them.

Had you have asked the same question, but instead of PS2 you said Xbox, then the answer would have been different for me, but that's only because of Xbox's wonderful emulation scene.

As far as I'm concerned DC still has the most playable amount of games for any current gereation system.

Dreamcast. It was a pioneer in the gaming industry. First client-to-server online-mulitplay and having a built-in modem, first use of GD-ROM's, first this generation technology... along with Sega's fantastic games... I'm in complete gaming heaven. The only thing missing is the mass third-party support; sadly, that was lost because of the PS2. However, PS2 does have the great RPG's... although DC does, as well.

Too bad all of DC's exclusive titles are being ported right- and-left. :(

I like them both...

But I like ps2 a bit more...
Mostly because I'm into rpg's now...
And seeing as though I play most of my sega games on x-box and cube, I really don't see the need for dreamcast as I once did.
:oops: The PS2 life is so bad thats its not even cool anymore!--And to top it off they quit making the Bigger way better PS2 SCPH-50001-N Man I think if this keeps going on there will be a protest against lazy SCEA!--Of America : ( why you ask?..Well for one you can't Beta test without the Hardrive!--Idiots Sony is! And the weird thing is you can still buy the PS2 older models in Europe and Japan ! But not here!--This will get worse every year until PS-3 comes out!--I still have my Dreamcast Sega Saturn etc and its never quit working on me!--Nintendo and Sega still have great Consoles including the GameCube!--And the Rest is History I have a 20 year old consoles from Nintendo and they stiill work :roll: ----My PS2 is now dieing on me this will be the 5th PS2 I have to replace!-- :arrow: The games are great but the Console sucks! :twisted: --Bad fan etc--I have the 30001-R-

wow, all those smilies and that yellow text was annoying...

DC did have minor overheating problems. Hais made a small little add-on extra cooling fan for DC, but i wasn't a massive problem as with the PS2s you speak of. Only very advanced games for very long periods of time like RECV and Shenmue et.c would overheat it.

u know what i think the dc controller should have looked different becuse it is designed for shooters and there is barely any if none at al thats why good ol ms ripped the ide becuse they have a lot of shooters and dc does not rock ther is barely any games for it but if it had mre games it would becuse it is online has a good controler and a cool memory card and it has shenmue but it died becuse of lack of games and i have it and i liked it 2 but now it is okay im getting a ps2 ha and i have xbox gamecube n-gage psp nintendo ds and gameboy advance im adding a ps2 and a n64 2 my collection mabe i should change my name 2 the colectarrr lol
