Note: It's part of another fanfic I'm writing. I wrote this before Sonic Heroes came out, to let you know, and it's a continuation of another fanfic.
He moved from roof to roof, using his amazing speed to help him across the gaps. This was the last emerald, then he'll be able to help Sonic.
He finally neared the end, summoning all his speed into one final jump.
And no one noticed the black hedgehog with red streaked spines as he flew across the night sky.
He landed, looked across to the dome, saw everything prepared for him. He'd have to thank Rouge later for that. He quickly moved the panel that had been cut before, and landed inside the bank.
This will be the second time he stole something from here. Funny thing is that it's the same exact thing as from last time.
Quickly he headed for the room with what he was here to get. That's when he remembered something. Didn't Rouge say something about security robots?
He turned around to see himself surrounded with guns pointing at him from every direction.
Before the first shot was fired, he was gone.
The robots quickly turned around as they heard an explosion. Then they turned another way from another explosion. One robot saw the hedgehog, just barely as it was hard to see him in the darkness, but as he locked on to him, he was rendered into another explosion.
The robots were in turmoil. The looked all over for the enemy. Little did they know that they were being watched by that very same hedgehog from high above.
He knew he had to get what was in the next room quickly. But he hadn't done anything entertaining for a while...why not have some fun?
He jumped down on a robot. He positioned himself over it's visor, then gave a yell that made eveybody turn. A bunch of laser shots soon filled the robot he was standing on, and he jumped before there was another explosion.
He hit the ground, activating his jet skates, and moved as swift as Sonic the Hedgehog himself, as he gracefully jumped and bounced in a ball off the robots, blowing them up one by one. Dodging shots and rolling under legs, or knocking legs out from under others, was so entertaining.
Finally they were all scrap on the ground, and he started for his prize, when a second wave came in and surrounded him. Ok, how he was annoyed.
"It's time for you all too...Disapear!" he yelled. Yellow energy spears appeared out of no where, striking and blowing up anything that was near to them. After waiting 3 seconds for his opposition to fall, it was time to get his prize.
He stepped up to the pedestal, and carefully removed the green emerald, at the same time thinking of how many silent alarms he must have tripped by now.
Before moving, he took a moment to look at the emerald in his hands. It was a glowing green, radiating with it's infinite energy. There was a reason why he went after this emerald specifically. Why he wouldn't let anybody go after it but him. It was because it was of his favorite color. The same favorite color as the friend he had 50 years ago...
He turned around, but after a few steps, he heard a blowhorn yell, "Shadow the Hedgehog, we know you're in there! Come out with your hands up!"
Shadow quickly made it to the main hallway, and saw all the way through the glass door at the other side of the building, the flashing lights of the police. The doors opened, and a couple of officers stepped through, guns drawn.
Shadow dashed straight for them. The officer in the lead was surprised by this and called for all his men to aim straight at the speeding figure. As Shadow ran, the emerald in his hand started to glow even more than before. It became such a large glow that it all but engulfed Shadow. The officers watched in wonder at what was happening.
Then came the moment where he was only seconds from bearing down at the men. Two words escaped from his mouth, "Chaos Control..." The light finally engulfed the hedgehog, and with a flash, he and the light were gone...
