just wondering if anyone knows if Sega plans on making anymore shining force games?

Shining Soul II is coming out in April for the GBA and Shining Force: The Revenge of Dark Dragon (A Shining Force I remake) will be released for the GBA sometime this year. As far as any true sequels to Shining Force, nothing was announced yet.

I was just looking at some screenshots of it....it doesnt look like its going to be the old strategy style game play, please tell me I'm wrong

Your probably looking at Screenshots for Shining Soul II. That's an Action RPG. Shining Force: The Revenge of Dark Dragon is the same game as the first one though. It's a remake.

I hope they make Shining Force 3 senario 1-3 remake, cause i always wanted to play the other 2 senarios. all the shining force games are way past cool. 8)

Don't the screenshots look awesome for that game. I can't wait for it to come outt. I'll have it on it's release date. I read on IGN that the cards are suppose to enhance the characters abilities in some way but like you said, they are not an interagal part of the main gameplay.

joot its not a card game its got a extra thing with the cards you dont even need them to play at all.

2) Point being sharky~ I've played both series and like ff far more.
while not necessarily true for the most part sales do represent the quality of the material. :wink: Obviously the early ff is better than shining force because ff has rose to stardom, while sf, well sf went kaput. I hadn't heard of shining force and probably never would have if a friend of mine hadn't let me know about it a few years back. One friend. Great games develop fan bases. There are fans of even the worst rated games.

PS. you brought up ff issue, i just warned others not to mention it. :wink:

The first FF has nothing on the original Dragon Warrior. Quality has nothing to do with success. Most of it is timing and the marketing department behind the product. Americans will buy anything you force feed them, especially when you tell them it is making them unique. :)

SF was way better then the orignal FF

the only reson it isnt what FF is today is because they releaced SF3
and the worste time possable and no one got it =s

THE GAME IS AMAZING!!

Shining Force 3 makes any FF look so crap seriously its got every thing.
+ its got a follow on story line and dragonite worriers own.

its got every thing from
Shinobi's to hobbits to Dragonites to Elven archers to Ninjas.

the way u hav to save some people in 1 battle to get them later in the game is so cool.

the summons and black smith is damn cool
the tactical side makes most tactical games look rubbish!

That one dragonite who can convert wile dragons to join your force is
so damn cool.

The Creature you can get and the premotions

It is BY FAR the best RPG ever made.

ONLY NOW WILL IT GET THE FANS IT SHOULD HAVE IF ENOUGH PEOPLE GET SHINING FORCE RDD THEY WILL REMAKE SF2 THEN OMG OMG OMG OMG SHINING FORCE 3 WILL GET A FULL REMAKE INTO ENGLISH!

I hope they remake them all, I will buy a GBA and gamecube just to play those games...

dont get me wrong, I love the final fantasy games as well...the only thing better than the FF story lines is the Chrono series which is better than both IMHO. SF was great in its own sense, in that game I actually grew a relationship with my characters, unlike FF where you are stuck with the same people the whole game. and the battle system is superb, I only wish FFTactics was as good...

Dude I have played bith sf 1+2 and ff 1+2 and i can say that sf is a poorly constructed. The fact that give you 20 characters to gihht with does not aid the games development at all. This lacks the customization need to have a true rpg, You can't play the character, because there are so many of the same.

Shining Force and Final Fantasy can't even be compared. Shining Force is a turn-based strategy RPG and Final Fantasy is a Turn Based RPG. The only Final Fantasy series that has anything in common with Shining Force is Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Advance. Final Fantasy and Shining Force both have two different battle systems and they are both good games for the specific genre they cater to. Sales does not determine which game is better either. It's all a matter of taste and opinion. A game can sell 1 million copies and still be horrible while aanother game can only sell 30,000 and still be awesome.
