Game not launching at all

Okay, after all the problems of buying the game. Installed with no problems at all, but now the only screen that works is the options menu, neither Story Mode or Network Mode do anything, just nothing happens. I know enough about computers and games to know that someone screwed up somewhere and it isn't me or my comp...

In the options menu the only thing I don't understand, in red letters is please turn off public computers? Whats that mean..

I even restarted my computer. and still nothing.

Make sure that you DO install the Direct X off the CD-ROM.
I had the same problem and it turned out that was it.

I had this error as well, but did what the guy said about the direct x on the dvd. Just popped dvd in installed that directx, even though I already had 9.0c installed, and it worked.

i installed the directx, etc. and launched the game, then got BSOD'd.

i'm not sure exactly what error it is, but i got the same exact one a couple of weeks ago when i tried to run a different game. i guess i'll check out what error i'm getting and post it or something.

anyone getting anything similar?

edit: Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 f7b8f803, parameter3 a059ab0c, parameter4 00000000.

If you're trying to run the game fullscreen, make sure V-Synch is disabled (checkmark the box near the top of options that has V-Synch written next to it).

Nothing worked so far, tried everything including re-installing DX from the dvd, tried creating a new windows profile, disabled V-Synch nothing has worked, it doesn't work on my wifes computer either which is a completely different model/make which totally different components, this must be fixed.

I'm in the exact same boat as you. It just makes me sick to my stomach.

I fixed it, MAKE sure DEP is turned on. I'll create a new post
