Titus22

If it's so slow then why does it only have to run at 2.14GHz to beat the 2.6GHz Pentium 4?

Nigor
02-23-2004, 10:25 PM
if yours runs at 2.14 and mine at 2.2 than mines faster HOMIE!

AMD processors are better for gaming whoever said that AMD suck.

I own:

AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+ (about 2 Ghz, but still fast enough)
Window XP Home Edition
512 MB of RAM
160 Gig Harddrive
ATI Radeon 9600 Video card
Sound card with 6.1
DVD player
Seperate CD burning drive thats fast as hell ( i can burn a full CD in like 3 or 4 minutes)

And guess what!!? It's an E-Machines

I used to think Emachines sucked Floppydonkeydick until I got this one.

I can run games like Unreal 2, Savage, Neverwinter Nights, UT, UT2K3, UT 2K4 (demo) all at best detail and the beeeatch still doesn't slow down. It just gets hot, but i'll get a better cooling system for it one of these days.
Its kinda funny because PC Gamer gave it a horrible rating and said that todays games dont play well on it but I dont know what they're talking about.

The tower itself was about $1,200 and I got a $500 flat 17 inch monitor

XFox Prower your pc really sucks

Maybe it doesn't sound like much, but your response is quite an underestimation. It's loaded with software. Let's see, it has a web browser, a paint program (see http://www.techsonic.net/xfox/fan/fanart/xfoxlogo.png for an example pic I made), it can play avi files, view any type of graphic format including Photoshop, and can handle zip and rar archives. Also, it starts up in less than 10 seconds and can be defragged in under 30 seconds. it's the PC my site "The Tails Archive" (http://www.techsonic.net/xfox) was born on

He does have merit though. I, too, own an Intel PC and an AMD PC. My AMD PC kicks a lot more :):):) than the intel. The damn Intel even crashed the first day I had it and still crashes a lot to this day, although my sister primarily uses it now that I have this AMD PC so she helps in crashing it too i guess. I havent had a single problem yet with the AMD Athlon 64 processor yet.

My PC is exactly kick-:):):) nor is it sucksvile. It's all I got for the momemt!

Proccessor: Intel Celeron 500 MHz

Original Hard Drive: 12 GB (it died along time ago)

Current Hard Drive: 80 GB

Original RAM: 64 MB (64 MB SD-RAM X1)

Current RAM: 256 MB (128 MB SD-RAM X2)

Original CD-ROM Drive: HP CD Writter Plus 8000 Series (damn I regret taking this apart).

Replacement CD-ROM Drive: Philips CD-RW (that thing sucked it rarely read any factory pressed CD you feed it!) (out of collection of spare computer parts someone gave me for free in the family)

Current CD-ROM Drive: Generic 20x CD-ROM Drive (it's okay, but I can't burn any CDs with it! Atleast it's better then that Philips CD-RW drive I had to put up with!!!!) (out of collection of spare computer parts someone gave me for free in the family)

Motherboard / Chipset: Intel 810 Chipset

Monitor Resolution: 1024 x 768 - 24-bit True Color

Monitor: HP M50

Sound Card (Includes A/V Riser card) (PCI): Riptide / Rockwell Modem Combo

Maxiaum Sample rate: 48,000 Hz, 16-bit, Stereo (2 Channels)

MIDI Synth System: Riptide Wavetable Synthesizer (64 note polyphony), effects: reverb (effect is adjustable if under the correct XG commands) instrument libary: 128 (sorry, but's that's the reality), 1 drumset only.

Other information about sound system: Can handle 3D audio, if done with 2 channels), accepts samples continuesly, requires a primary buffer (most old sound cards do), is enhanced full-deplex, select type record (adjust by system mixer), allows multiple sounds from different applications to played at the sametime, no hardware memory in sound card, hardware mixing is not supported.

Modem Speed: 56k (v90), and is the damaged componement that's stuck with my sound card for now, oh well! I don't use the modem anyway.

Original Power Supply: 100W (it died a year ago)

Current Power Supply: 235W (atleast it works, just can't fit in my computer case) (out of collection of spare computer parts someone gave me for free in the family)

Etherent Card: Intel PRO-100 (PCI) (once disfuctional however, a nice storage place for half a year seems to have fixed that, after the replacement failed)

Operating System: Windows 98 Second Edition (obivousily in better shape then most of my computer hardware ever was)
Operating System Build: 4.10.2222 A

System Age: over 4 years old
