I think PS3 will be the biggest hit of all time sense 80% of gamers today own PS2 but i honestly think that Gamecube may be the answer of the future... It will be the oldest running next gen console (like dreamcast) and it already has all the biggest mascots on one cube. as for microsoft... they are good but it won't last in the future..the way the games are right now.

Sony is our Future. They have already taken over Online gaming.
Take EverQuest for example, its been in the lead for years... Its only a matter of time until they take us over.

You know... for as much as everyone bad mouths Sony about being all for the money and not for the gamers, they sure go out of there way to do a lot of things for gamers.

-Putting out TONS of games. Most people will say that for every 1000 games they put out, only 100 or so are good. But you know what? Some people like crappy games, or in what OUR opinion are crappy games. They put games out for EVERYONE. Every style, and tons of them. So just cause your not gonna run out and buy the 5 BARBIE RACE AND RIDE games there are, they are thousands of people that will. And THOSE people will love them and be TOTALLY HAPPY. Is that a bad thing? Sony is just giving people the MOST selection of games availible. Who really wants to be limited?

-having a brilliant online system going. They have seperate servers for BB and 56k modem users. Maybe not ALL games, but a ton. So others poor quality ISP isnt going to ruin YOUR GAMING EXPERIENCE.
Plus ITS FREE. And they give people the choice of using BB or 56k. Xbox pretty much screwed themselves out of MILLIONS of online users because of the BB. Sony wants people to play online.. And its taking money out of SONYS POCKET to make people happy with online play. That doesnt sound liek such a bad thing to me. People want online play and sony is willing to take the loss to make people happy. Companies like nintendo arent doing it... And they ve pretty much pointed out online gaming isnt PROFITABLE. So they know people want it, but since they cant make money on it they wont bother.. yet anyway.

-Paying big bucks for exclusives. Sure, it sucks if you dont own a ps2, but if you do your set up. Sony goes out of there way to give there fans the best games they possibly buy. People just have the hugest choice in any genre. Soul Calibur 2 mighta sold the most on GC, but i think thats because ps2 fans had about 100 fighters to choose from and basically didnt want another.

-plus making deals with companies like EA to keep there fans happy with online play whereas xbox or gc wont get it. Some peopel consider it shadey, but Sony fans are being looked after.

-Apart from having the WORST LOOKING ports genrally, Ps2 is also genrally considered to have the BEST CONTROLLING AND PLAYING ports. Allways a tradeoff. Most developers put most of there resources into teh ps2 market, because thats where the cash is, and sometimes they get a better playing game. Or as best as the game can be within the limitations of the console.

Thats just the first things i thought of.... I m sure theres tons more

And yes, they are doing well ;). For a noob. Sony is still killing them and Nintendo, but in three out of the four major markets, MS leads over Nintendo. The only place MS is doing bad in is Japan.

Not really, The japanese market has never been kind to consoles made in america, X-Box is no different

Yes, they are the only true gaming way, Nintendo is VERY good, but not as cool, and I don't like the games as much as I do old Sega games.

Sony is not the future. Linux is the future. Linux appears in every console - PS2, Xbox, DC, & GC. Even Sony claimed PS2 is a PC. LOL.....
