PLOT-
FF-The World is veiled in darkness. The wind stops, the sea is wild, the earth begins to rot. The people wait, their only hope a prophecy...

SF-All has been peacful in Rune for 1000 years since Dark Dragon was banished to another world by the people of the old world. dark dragon was all but forgoten,But had said he would return in 1000 years.
At this time the kindom of runefast declared war on your kingdom, and had hordes of evil beasts and worriers after you.
Darksol was behind it, a Devil king who has come to bring The Dark Dragon back to this world and take it. You you must gather an army or a "Shining Force" from all over the land of Rune.To battle the hordes and
defeat Darksol befor he brings Dark Dragon back.


GAMEPLAY-
FF-Four Light Warriors appear among the people each carrying an Orb. Two thousand years ago, the Orbs shined with Light. Now, only darkness....
You are the Light Warriors, the world's only hope. You will journey all across the land, through dark caverns, into the depths of the sea, and even amongst the clouds, looking for some way to save the world from the plague that is slowly consuming it...


SH-You are the leader of a group of warrior and sorcerers, fighting to save your homeland from an ancient evil! Choose your party from over 25 characters you'll meet while travelling through the worlds of Rune. Realtime action meets Role-Playing strategy in Shining Force!

1) Thats the opening plot to final fantasy 1, more plot followed it, hey Im glad they didnt leave (admittedly this single game left out the true ff storyline, but look at every single ff following game) and sf followed so they knew that the storyline leaing four heros you create yourself doesnt work.
2) your gameplay argument is exactly the same as your plot argument, (again admittedly ff1 had much to accomplish, but the battle system, the true defining characteristic of an rpg is terrible in shining force, added with the fact that it had to bring up a separate fight sequence for EVERY move you made, its battle system is incredibly slow.)
3) origninal ff = nintendo = 8 bit system/original shining force= genesis = 16 bit system (graphics argument solved)

There might be 13 installments but alot of them are REALLY poor!
FF7 was great.. I cant say i injoyed any of the others.

The fact is that there are 16 games in the Shining series and they all did REALLY well In there time.

They stoped at Shining Force 3 not because they were bad games.
they sold sooo welll but SF3 was released at a VERY bad time
and the fact that only the First part of the game made it to US and UK didnt help at all.
Thats were Shining Force Stoped .. when Final Fantasy carryed on.. because they were the best RPG's on the Sony Play station and that console was doing extreamly well! unlike the Saturn .. and SF3 was released at the VERY end of the saturns life.. Its one of the most over looked games ever made!

ONLY NOW will Shining Force Get to Shine when people get to see how good SF3 is they will be like .. FINAL WHAT ?
That is if SF RDD sells enough!

When you say about the plot it only helps prove that Shining Force story is better .. its more indepth.. and yer maybe it is because SF came out a few years later .. BUT ITS STILL BETTER!

I dont see how the battle System was and at all the idear of makeing it so tactical that different players depending on there race are more effective in different places is crazy good.. and it just makes FFTT look rubbish.

the Cut seen type things i admit were a bit slow and only like .. 2 frames ;p
but ALL the problems have been sorted out in the Remake.

Now think what you like .. you can think FF is better then SF if you like..
but dont be so sure its true!

and pray they remake SF3 all the parts in english

I can agree on that.

I never even LIKED Shining Force because the gameplay was SO BORING. I liked FF because leveling up was the main purpose of the game. The storyline didn't do jack sh1t in that game, it was pure leveling up.

I cant stand leveling up .. expically random battles .. it does my head in
thats why SF is good for me.. all the battles are along with the story .. and if u want to level up there are some places that have people to fight
when u go into them over and over ..

Im big on story lines and SF has a HUGE one..

and I love the tactical side to the battles!

unless you mean the hole battle takes ages because you have to
move around to get to your enemys..

and in that case thats your problem because thats a main part of the game play .. and that to alot of people it a good thing!

everytime you attack there is a separtate cutscence.... backt to map screen... move player, fiddle through difficult menus... cutscene of attack...wait for emey yo move on map.. cutscence.. ad infinitum
