View Full Version : Annoyances in life...
1. The designer of my Philips PC put the power button right at the bottom of the base unit, so i have to touch the floor to turn the PC on (When 6'2" tall you notice it :P). Also i can turn the PC off by accident if a wheel on the chair hits the button, that is a pain :x.
2. This forum hates me as i cannot auto-matically login and when i manually do it it takes 2 or more tries to actually login.
I am sure i will think of some more important ones, but those are on my mind and i am bored. So feel free to add things that you find annoying...

When people say "drawl". IT'S DRAW!!!!!!! DAMN!
Not being racist at all, but it annoys me when black people say "we were all suffering when there was slavery!" No, not every black person was suffering. They act like other people don't suffer. What about all the chinese sweatshops when little 5 year kids are forced to work?
Yogurt. I don't know why.
How some of country music is just like some of rap music. some of the country is the same as some of the rap. Women, cars, drugs, money.(Same as rock too.But not in this situation right here.) People say that country songs that sings about those is nothing like rap, and has meaning. NO! Difference between rap and country, is rap will just come out and say. "GIRL HAS A BIG :):):), I'M GONNA DO HER!" Country "I was at the bar, and she was looking at me, She walked by and said room 214 at the corner, so I took my big ford f150 truck with my viagra, and prepared for a good time."
Simpsons. Hate it. Only character I like, is Moe.
When people call you immature, and rude when they get mad, punch a wall and scream something bad. YEAH, like that's mature.
EDIT-GOT MORE!
Politics. They say the same thing over and over, and lie.
People who get mad at someone who gets mad at sports. It's called a hobby!Sports are some peoples hobbies. Example.
Couple nights ago when watching Tigers, Cardnals game. Rookie at third MISSED THE BALL! My dad was :):):):)ed, he was foaming at the mouth and making up cusswords when he ran out of words to say. So my mom comes down saying "I don't get why you're mad that they missed the ball.." Now, I couldn't resist saying this. I said " Same thing with you and your politics. You get mad when the republicans win something. " So she goes off saying "NO IT'S NOT! POLITICS DECIDE HOW YOU LIVE!" Yeah, and a baseball game determines who wins the $50 bet. Continuing, I then say" It's nothing different." She calls me a :):):):):):):) and just storms off. It's called A HOBBY! People like sports, people like politics.

oh and when people chew with their mouth open.
HATE THAT. And when people talk with food in their mouth, If you HAVE to talk, cover your mouth first, I don't want to see your pre-chewed food buddy.
I hate people who're two faced, saying one thing to you and then doing something opposite behind your back.
I hate it when the 'Tear here' on packets don't work.
When kids toy's don't have try me buttons.

People wearing t-shirts that are 4-9 sizes too big.
People chirping on their phone in a small restaurant.
People listening to music on their cell phones in a small restaurant while they sing to it.
People that can't drive.

Darn near everything listed here. But there is one thing I hate a lot...
People who make a big deal out of everything.
Say the person pours a drink and soon spills it by accident, big deal right? WRONG! They go crazy and say "I'm gonna kill the next mutha- who walks in here!".
Watch one of George Carlin's stand up comedies and you'll hear about most things that annoy me.
Oh and breathing... man its a pain.
When your ex-girlfriends friends harrass your girlfriend.
Uhm, don't know how to explain this one.
Well, all of us probably know about labels by now.
What I hate, is when someone is stereotypically one of these, and without you provoking them, come up and go..
"You're *insert label*."
"But..why would you say that? So are you?"
"No I'm f***ing not, f*** you, you f***ing little *insert label*!"
*They run off*
*Blink*
Ever had this happen to you?

I sure as heck don't go there if I can avoid it. I never, ever buy hardware from them (such as RAM, graphics cards, etc), only plug-in parts such as keyboards, or games. Mostly because I'm a 2-minute walk away from the store and can't drive. :P

Facial hair is a lose lose situation. Cut it and it stings, and you normally cut yourself in the process, or don't cut it and it itches and gathers food :(.

Mine is rather nice actually. Not too long, easy enough to trim, and it's comfy. :)
As for gathering food, nothing a discreet hankerchief tucked into my sleeve can't solve.

Thank you... question to ask you FIH as your logics seem to actually WORK.
If one admits that the person who plays pen and paper D&D is a Role Player as D&D is a Role-Playing Game. Then would this not infer that one who plays WoW is a Role Player because WoW is a Role-Playing Game?
Or are they two different things because one is digital and the other isn't? (I personally believe the concept of gameplay is similar, only the interface has changed).
Shiro Mumei Tou
11-07-2006, 05:31 PM
Duct, I believe I can answer that. They both are roleplaying to a certain extent. D&D is closer to roleplaying, as roleplaying is creating your own world, story, lives, and such. WoW is an already set world in which you create a life, so it's a little further away from Roleplaying.

Don't give anyone any ideas, dude. We already have enough idiots running around in armor. I saw this one Reno 911 thing at my friend's house, where these guys were roleplaying. This one guy shot his friend with an arrow because his friend was trying to disarm a booby-trapped chest. The guy was talking to the cops, and then he tries to run away while screaming, "I'm wearing boots of escaping!" They shot him in the leg and carried him off to jail.

@minionfeck - That isn't the style role-playing I am referring... similarily I am not referring to the role-playing you may do with your girlfriend/boyfriend with whips, chains, police uniforms and maid outfits.

Yes, but a lot of D&D games (for instance the Shadowrun or the D&D series books) have predesigned dungeons and stories to follow.
Also the original pen and paper required a Dungeon Master. The Dungeon Master is the one who created the world and the players only created a life to exist in that world. The Dungeon Master would then send them on a mission unbenounced to the player.
Similarly Blizzard creates a world and allows the player to create a life to exist in their world. Blizzard then would allow the players to go on missions similar to D&D... Blizzard has taken place of the Dungeon Master. Now instead of your good buddy Joe telling the story, you have a company who hired on a bunch of writers and programmers to tell the story.
Just like in many RPGs... RPGs have been slowly inching their way into the Video Game scene from the beginning. Ultima was just a simple stepping stone that grew and grew getting closer and closer to the original non-videogame version of these emulations. Today MMORPGs closely ressemble that of the old school pen and paper games. Now multiple people can create varying characters of different skills and be placed through out a land (possibly no where near eachother) and play against the dark forces in the quest randomly running into eachother.
A D&D party is the non computer equivalent of a MMORPG LAN Party.
The only difference is programmers have yet to figure out a way to make significantly unique games like one can do playing it on pen and paper. But the only fact it is unique is merely because the Dungeon Master is one of your friends who is actively participating. It is difficult for a company to actively participate in every gamers story.
