I think your logic may be flawed. PSU can encourage guilds yet not support them in-game. Would that be silly? Of course!

I think we will see Guild Support in a future update. Then again, I'm an optimist by nature. :P

Online games and Guilds/Clans/etc... are always going to be incorporated. But wehter or not they are officially supported with in game content... is questionable.
