Tufty discussion: Xbox is trash!

By reading the title of this subject you have already assumed I am a GameCube or PS2 fanboy here to talk some more trash on the big and fat green console, and you clicked it so you could disagree with everything I say, call me fanboy, tell me how much the GameCube sucks, and how Xbox is crushing the GameCube. :roll:

First off, I am no fanboy of any console, if you call me a fanboy call me a fanboy of computers, because that's like the only thing I play games on anymore. And yes I do own a GameCube, oh but wait, I also own a PS2 and a Xbox, and I'm here merely because I am dissapointed in the Xbox. To me it seems that really the Xbox has one goal, and that is to become number 1. Not this generation of course. Microsoft is not Mother Theresa, they just set the table for Xbox 2. Honestly they do not care about there customers, they just want to put other gaming industries out of business, but isn't having multiple gaming industries what makes it all fun? Having only one would be plain and boring, you need color in this world, so on that note, I disagree with what the Xbox is trying to accomplish.

Second, and it's so very true, Xbox is trying to be a cheap pc, I mean seriously, and when you guys respond, don't mention Ninja Gaiden or other Xbox games, I've heard it a million times. I'm not saying Xbox has nothing but pc games, I'm just saying, if this machine is so high and mighty, so powerful, where are these great console games that are supposed to rule consoles and destroy pc gaming. None of these games come close to changing anything about the gaming industry. These games are supposed to put everything out of business and they are not even close to being original. And then, what is with Xbox getting all of it's fans so hyped up about soon to come games, and when those games come out, they totally blow as$!

So the moral of the story, Xbox is all about hardware but fail to deliver great original games. What happend to the good ol days when it wasn't a race to be the best it was just a means of making your fellow customer happy and bringing boredom to a stop. For console games I stick with a GameCube or PS2. For pc games I stick to online computer gaming, you know what your getting, it isn't trying to win a war, and it will never end.

I kinda agree about the lack or original games. The XBX doesn't have much of that. 2nd You do realize that ALL SYSTEMS try to hype up themselves. They try to make themselves look great. That doesn't mean anything. The lack of Japanese games means jacksh it. As long as there are great games, no matter the country of origin, then it will be great.

lol, thats what ALL the consoles are trying to accomplish. Do you think Sony likes having pirannhas constantly nipping away at them? Do you think Nintendo wants to have to compete for gamers attention on the market (which is an obvious no, looking at how they crush all with Gameboy). Xbox's goal is no different from the goal of any other console: complete domination of the market.

Lol, I'd have to partially agree with ya there, looking at how many cruddy hyped up games have made it to Xbox over the years like Azurik and Kukato Chojin. But Xbox does have it's fair share of "genre defining" games, outside of FPS. Pnazer Dragoon Orta, JSRF, and Steel Battalion to name some. But to be honest, none of the consoles these days have a lot of exclusive games that change the industry. Xbox had Halo, PS2 had GTA, and GC had Viewtiful Joe. Finding games that change that are exclusive to a console AND change the industry are very rare these days. Man, I miss DC :(.

ALL of the companies are trying to do that. Sony practically already has, a lot of consoles lack originality these days, even Ninty's offerings. And PS2 didn't over hype itself, than turn out to be c.rap for 8 months? Bulky...lol, got me there, not that thats a huge issue for those who don't treat they're consoles like Gameboy. Same price as PS2 lol, with better features and hardware. Hey, theres Japanese titles: Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive 3, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Gunvalykrie, Otogi, Metal Gear Solid 2, PSO. Lack of RPGs. Yup, but hey, no consoles perfect.

Of course everything they make is original...they are just starting out. Unless they buy out previously exisiting franchises, there isn't much initial room for Microsoft to just come off with an abundance of sequels. So by default, they have lots of "original titles". But that is already quickly changing thanks to 3 version of NBA Inside Drive and NFL Fever as well as two Ampeds and now two Halo's.

Now as for you waterking...it is nice to see that you can get away with lying here on sega.com since I am most likely the only other guy here who goes to gamefaqs.com But you are a serious gamecubefanboy and a serious xbox basher back in your home forums. You always gave tufty polls that were negative to the XBOX. If you are going to bash...at least be truthful...

Not everyone likes Rpgs. Also, It may not have many Rpgs. But: Morrowind, Fable, Potc, Shenmue 2.... It's got more than Gcn anyway.

Morrowind, Project Gotham Racing 1 &2, Halo, Ninja Gaiden, Unreal Championship, Shenmue 2, Voodoo Vince, Sega Gt, Microsoft Sport games.
Don't come in with Pc crap, I'm talking console wise.

Plus, I'm looking forward too: Fable, Halo 2, Doom 3.
