As most of us that have finished story mode know, the game's kind of a pushover offline. I myself am a stickler for self-imposed challenges in games. And since there's no difficulty slider in-game, I was wondering if you have any ideas to make the game harder.

For example, never do free missions, and only stick to the story. That way you're pretty limited in the ammount of money and exp you have to advance with. Or maybe "you cannot carry less than 1000 times your level" or even 10,000 x Lvl.

Extra mode too, it's just a walk in the park. What can we do to make it harder? Pick a class and race that isn't meant to do well. Never wear armor. Help me out guys!

God, I wish. That's the only thing that I could've asked for, and hell, that would've made ALL the difference.
At the moment Offline mode is washed up. It's so rediculously easy, I didn't bother doing Free Missions for 8 chapters of the game, and I was still even level with the monsters.
Extra mode is even more of a joke. Without multiplayer or at least decent partner AI, you might as well solo all the missions. And you can. Very easily.

Meh, if they had difficulty settings, and at least made it harder to level, I probably could've played through the game several times over.

CAST Force.

Yup. Play a Focast and you will be looking and 30+ lvls w/o spells and wondering what you have done. I'm a focast and I can say that stabbing myself with a brand has never been more entertaining...

To me Extra mode is more like a dry run of the online version, thus it's as easy as many people think it was. I do hope however that Sega would allow a patch for offline extra mode to come with multiple difficulty settings and lan options. But if the offline game play remains as it is I'll still have no complains. I'll play online when I need my challenges and move on when the game runs dry for me.
