Sonic runs from Amy. He no doubt fears her. He has good reaosn to be afraid, to be quite honest.

Knuckles hates Rouge to the point of being psychotic about it. He also follows Sonic around almost as much as Amy does(so much for "sworn duty"). And forget Shade. If even "romance subplots make for good games" Bioware can't make Knuckles look at a girl then just don't count on it.

Shadow really doesn't care about such silly things. Probably has conversations with E-123 Omega and light switches. Even knowing your name is probably more than he really cares to get involved with someone.

Amy is obsessed with Sonic to the point that, if he died, she'd just keep the corpse and refuse to move on.

Rouge doesn't seem to much care as all guys are the same. But Sonic Team writes her stupid so she doesn't seem to really "get it" why everyone rejects her. Though the hatred of Knuckles seems to be mutual as given by their brief exchange in Sonic Next Gen. If he didn't have that big rock he'd be useless to her. She probably has some genuine interest in Shadow but even she knows it's pointless. She's destined to a lifetime of inanimate objects for company, no doubt. From Amy, this behavior might make sense, but for an adult secret agent, this seems contradictory- that is, no one smart enough to gain such employment should be so stupid as to keep hitting on men who hate her very existence.


None of the in-game couples are really cute or possible thanks to everyon being insane. You pretty much have to go to SatAM/Archie to find the decent ones(Sonic/Sally, Kncukles/Julie-Su).
