Xbox Next game plan at GDC?

Microsoft's Robbie Bach will reportedly discuss next-gen software strategy at the San Jose developer's summit.
TOKYO--The consensus in the industry is that the Xbox Next probably won't be released until 2005--at the earliest. However, it looks like attendees of the 2004 Game Developer's Conference might get a sneak peak at the next-generation console's games in two and a half weeks.

Bloomberg quoted Microsoft Japan's Asako Miyata as saying that Chief Xbox Officer Robbie Bach will appear at the San Jose, California, conference on March 24. According to Miyata, Bach will outline Microsoft's software strategy for the Xbox Next by discussing games that will run on the console and revealing some technical aspects about the console's format.

Miyata also commented that Microsoft has not yet decided when to reveal the specs for the Xbox Next. However, she did hint that the console's hardware will most likely not be unveiled during the Game Developer's Conference.

I dont think its a good idea to reveal the specs of the new console yet, considering it is still quike early to do that yet considering nintendo and sony are also planning a new system, but i know microsoft isnt stupid and i dont see them giving away information about their next console any time soon only to give nintendo and sony a head up, NO not goin happen.

Yea, they arent going to reveal all of their cards now. It said that in an article in gamepro. They say 2005 the earliest, but i think the only people shootin for that date is nintendo.

Ms will probably release side by side with sony. Anyway this just talks about the software strategy, not hardware.

WELL sorry about that i guess i didnt read it thougherly enough, but i think it would be a wise decision by microsoft to release the xbox 2 at the same time as sony, so at least this time microsoft can hopefully stay in seeing distance with sony
