you can attach boards to most any site, as long as the host supports whatever format they are in (These are php)

typically you'll just go to a site where you can download the forums (i use xmbforums) and you'll get some files you have to upload into a directory on your server, then you access a php or cgi file to install them, and it all pretty much does it itself.

like those tents that are all compacted, and all you do is throw them in the air and it pops open and falls a fully built tent.

just be sure that if you start a forum, that you are the first person to register. don't be like 'omg i just set up these forums' and link everyone to them before you register. i think most forums set the first person to register as the uber-1337 forum admin.

just go to 'downloads' and you can either download Partagium (1.8) which is what i use. (http://www.uhhsam.com/bbs if you want to see what it looks like)

or they have a beta version of Nexus (1.9) which i haven't tried yet, but could be unstable


shouldn't really matter which you download (zip, rar, tar.gz) as long as you have the ability to unzip whichever one you get. then with an FTP client, just upload all the files into a folder like 'bbs' or 'forum' on your website.

the downloads should come with documentation to guide you through the setup
