Have any of you heard anything about this game??? I loved the first 2, and I've been dying for GameArts to announce Grandia 3, but I just haven't heard anything. Any news???

Wrong forum.
It would bomb on Xbox.
It usually takes a couple of years for another one to crop up. Give it some time. If we don't see anything by the end of this year, though don't hold your breath, I guess.

No, its the right forum. Gamearts is developing a game for Xbox, I just don't know which one.

There already was a third Grandia...so this would be the wrong forum. In order of release
Grandia- Playstation (U.S., Europe, Japan), Saturn (Japan only)
Grandia II- Dreamcast, PS2
Grandia Extreme- PS2
Anyways, as the above poster put it, Grandia would not fair well on the XBOX, but I have always had the personal belif that Microsoft needed an exclusive Japanese RPG. Not Japanese style...but a literal Japanese RPG with franchise recognition. Prior to the merger, I used to say they needed a Dragon Warrior game from Enix...but with that out of the question (we know Square Enix won't touch this thing), I say Microsoft convinces Gamearts to put out an exclusive Grandia. It would drive sales in Japan.

Grandia III would rock, it just has to have a large Xbox feel to it. not a little feel like the DC did.

Grandia Extreme was just a lousy badly done rehash of the DC version for the PS2.

didnt have much time to explain my last post. So I'll clear up some confusion. DC had a little feel, which was great, small console doing big things, the game fit (better with SOA). Halo has a massive feel to it, it even matched the massive controlers. Even from the menu you knew the game was going to rule or be one hell of a ride (opinions may vary but on a whole). Grandia III has to have the same feel to fit the "essence of the console" much like Sonic fits on Genesis and not SNES, provided SNES could run it. Grandia III's story has to be on par with Xenogears, but with a better atmosphere.
Hope you get the idea.

Allow me to reiterate. Grandia is a Japanese Sega Saturn game that was later ported to the Playstation in both Japan and the U.S. Grandia II is the sequel that was originally made for the Dreamcast and was later ported to the Playstation 2 with something like two more FMV's. Grandia Extrme is the third Grandia game...I reapeat it is the third Grandia game. Not all sequels require a number to indicate that they follow next in a worlds story arch or time line. For instance Super Mario World is Super Mario Bros. 4 even though it is not called Suepr Mario Bros. 4. Just the same, Grandia Extreme is the third Grandia. It features an entirely new cast on an entirely new feature. All hopes of Grandia III on the XBOX are non exisent. The title already failed on the PS2....so there is no need for wishful thinking on what Grandia III could be like or if it will ever come. It already exists.

Oh boy kids...
You're getting bogged down in semantics, Sega_Sage. He's asking for the next Grandia game, regardless of whatever they decide to call it.

I can agree with the over all idea proposed by your statment A2K. But after I already posted that Grandia III exists, one member continued to profess a desire for a third Grandia and another continued to confuse the port of Grandia II with Grandia Extreme...thus again serving to dismiss the already existent game that is the third Grandia. So in general you are correct, but in general I am also correct. I was just tired of people saying Grandia III after I pointed out that it is already a game...

I'll have to quote her again..."You're getting bogged down in semantics, Sega_Sage. He's asking for the next Grandia game, regardless of whatever they decide to call it", oh and by the way you're still doing it.

No, you don't get it. What do you think would sell more? A Japanese styled RPG with Anime characters or an American game based on highly popular PC or movie series.....
