Yeah, Sally's a DiC/Archie character, and as such does not count unless one is speaking of the American-only SatAM show, or the Archie comics. Which were not as bad as say, Sonic Underground, but the comics mostly suck now.

Amy is a lot better. For one she's not a chipmunk. Two, she's not a stupid princess that doesn't wear clothes and is bossy. Three, she isn't a sonic character. Amy rocks the majority of socks.
