Shenmue Book?

I heard the game Shenmue was based off of a book. Is this true, and if so, what is the name of it and where can I get a copy?

I just heard from some websites in the past and people that the storyline for Shenmue was based off of some books or a book in its entirety. Now if this is true, the books are probably so minor or ancient that they are near impossible to find. If you look at the outline for the Shenmue game, Suzuki himself laid out which games cover which chapters of this so called book, if there is one.

Yu Suzuki already has the whole script planned out for the future.

Well if that's the case, I hope that Yu Suzuki could at least publish that book for the fans if he doesn't continue to make the games.
