Hello all!! ^_^

Well, this is a great thing to do with some extra time. I've read through a couple other people's stories and thought that maybe I should add my own to this great topic.

My story isn't grandoise or epic or anything of that nature. In stories and other videogames, I've always been more attached to the background characters rather than the main heroes. There's something very endearing about the normal guy who simply tags along and does his part to help out and have some fun. I'm like that in real life too I suppose, so I guess that explains it. I'm not one to search out the spotlight, I prefer to clap from the sidelines and occassionally step into the light.

Anyway, here's the intro to my PSU character: XTIAN! I might add some more writings as I continue to play and find out his personality through the encounters with other players. I'll be writing from a first-person point of view simply because I find it easier.

Hope you enjoy! ^_^

My story is much like that of many others. Your standard coming of age story, where the main character decided to reach out for his dreams, leaving everything he’s known behind, not for glory or fame, but for the chance to find himself. That is my story, pretty much. At least how it starts.

Like several other Newmans in the Gurhal System, I was born on Neudaiz and had a pretty nice childhood. My parents spoiled me and my older sister, Lili, rotten as best as they could. Mom was an advanced healer at the city medical center, and Dad was an architect. I never had a problem in school and was one of those rare children to actually enjoy and look forward to going back to academy after each break. I excelled at scholarship, and I knew it and loved it.

When I had just turned fourteen, my mother gave birth to a baby girl, whom she named Vixy. She was an angel – while she slept! But she brought a newfound energy and happiness to the house. This only continued when two years later my little brother, Mart, was born. All in all, we had a great life.

I guess you could say I’m just a spoiled kid looking for a little adventure, looking for that spark of life I see in so many people. I’m not sad or depressed or angsty. I’m just looking to make some friends, discipline myself, and make a change in the galaxy, even if in a very small way.

I’m not looking for accolades (although they are always nice!) just something to look back on when I’m old and grey and realize, “Yeah. I was there. I did that. I lived that. I was alive.”

So far my Guardian career has gone well. I complete my initial orientation with Ms. Shidow without any major problems and watching her in action was quite nice. She said she would mainly stick to the supportive role and watched my back as I watched and took care of the targets. Her crossbow has also inspired me to pick one up as soon as FINANCIALLY possible! :)

In addition to Maya I’ve become quite fond of my little assistive Partner Machinery, whom I named Alpha. It took quite a deal of training and feeding, but she finally upgraded herself into a new model, the GH-430. I originally thought, from her progression chart, that she would choose the GH-420 model, so it was quite a surprise to see her final evolution state. At first I was a little disappointed in her choice, but I’ve grown to like her new state and watching her occasionally pick off people with her rifle is quite a pleasure! Her gun is almost as big as she is! My friends all seem to think she is quite cute as well. And as Alpha herself says about the other little creatures we encounter on our missions, “They may be cute, but I’m cuter!”

Being a Force – excuse me – a Fortetecher, I had originally envisioned Alpha being of an independent nature and running off into mobs, drawing their attention while I would stay back and nuke them from afar, but I am growing to like her support at my side. I suppose with time I will either embrace her choice fully or talk her into taking a PM Zero. Am I bad for thinking that?

Well, currently that is where I stand! Next time I’ll talk about my fellow Guardians and friends I’ve come across, including the awesomely trained and powerful Temptation, Don Francisco, & Ariel!

Well, personally I don't like the journal style writting, but that is just my taste, nothing against your writing. That being said, it is well written, the narrative has a pace that keeps you going. So...keep writting :)

Thanks so much for the feedback. I was contemplating actually writing in this journal type style, and it just flowed naturally, so I've continued it. Perhaps I might try a more narrative type 3rd person style. :)
