Sounds like symptoms that you have Windows installed. But if you really do have a virus, it's no surprise since you have Kazaa. It comes with cydoor (sort of like GAIN) and will only work if you take down your firewall, (wonder why?). I don't know much about Imesh but it's the same type of deal. Get Spybot (http://security.kolla.de), download the latest updates, and scan for spyware.

TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER BURN IT AND SEND IT TOO THE DECONTAMINATION WARD! YOUR GONNA INFECT US ALL! *huddles in fear of the virus after hearing about projectile vomiting out a liver from Bacterial Menengitis somewhere in the U.K. 5 years ago  *

Goto Symantec.com and get a free scan online
Get AdAware and Spybot, run them both,
and if you can, after your system is clean, get NIS

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME! i dont know if its a virus or not but i used spybot and scanned my pc for viruses but it still kept happening, what i did was bought a bigger HD than copied all my important stuff like MP3's,movies and games to my empty one than i erased it and installed windows on it than i copied all the stuff back and now it works fine
I THINK ITS KAZAA! the .EXE files are said to have some kindof virus code or whatever but ITS HELLA BAD!
if you MUST use kazaa than get KAZAA LITE and if you cant find it than search on google for KAZAA LITE RESURRECTION
DUMP iMesh!!! thats real real bad
get WinMX instead of iMesh
oh and i put the bigger HD as a slave....

i cant run programs like the System Restore or run CMD to be able to restore it because that would help if not i might just have to re-install winXP pro.

I had IMesh because of the viruses and spyware from Kazaa, and that ****ed me over even worse. I did a normal restart of the computer like usu. and when it was shutting down, it came up with the "it is now safe to turn off your computer" screen for 3 seconds, which I found odd for one, XP shouldn't show that often, two it only lasted three seconds and then the comp. shut down, and three- IT WASN'TSAFE TO TURN OFF MY COMPUTER. It never started because I am assuming that the hard drive corrupted beyond use. Luckily I had 3 other computers on the same desk, and 7 total computers, and that's just in my house. I even have some computers wired to the stereo systems I have and the TV. I also have a few thousand dollars worth of accessories for my computer, and well over 2,000 discs, I am what you call either a tech freak or someone who has to much time and loves computers.

Go to www.grisoft.com and download AVG anti virus. It's a 100% free program and has free updates.

The last VIRUS I had (thank goodness for up to date anti-virus software: AVG Anti-Virus) to deal with was a trogun horse (backdoor), that if my virus scanner didn't catch it, I would of been hacked from the ways it look! I had to delete the affected system directories and remove anything specious in the registry after a virus scan detected another one, right after getting rid of the first. That was the night when I had something to actually get rid of fast! I haven't seen a virus in about 3-4 months now and it's kinda quiet.....

well mayb if u wouldve gotten the greatest kazaa ever (K-Lite) that wouldve never happened.... i have been using k-lite for over a year and a half and have never encountered a virus... but sharman networks has gotten rid of most sites with k-lite d/l so now its hard to find....

yes, but kazaa lite just came out a few months beforehand and everyone I know who used it complained about it, but the computer sucked anyways, so it didn't matter too much.

Kazaa lite is awesome. Who would complain about it. I ve been using it for 2 years and never had a virus. I cant believe people still dont use norton or something free.
