Eastern Sun meets Western Box.
Our next question comes to us from Chris Johnson. Chris wants to know what kind of Japanese surprises the XBOX will get at this years E3, well Chris I hope your blood pressures alright because you’re in for some shockers come May! E3 2004 we’ll see the strongest Japanese support for the XBOX since well ever! Now I can’t point fingers at the moment but you can expect the biggest buzz to come from the camps of Sega and Namco. From Software has a new game for the box that’ll should tickle your fancy; and Capcom has at least two new titles in the works for XBOX as well. Of course if you’re lookin for some of that “Only on XBOX” goodness then I gotta mention Tecmo and Team Ninja! Tomonobu Itagaki’s got two new XBOX games he’s gonna be flaunting, and I got news for you. Neither one of them is Code Cronus!
The Hedgehog’s Take- Hope that tides you over Chris, specifics are a little sensitive at the moment, but once we get closer to April you’ll see a lot more out of Japan!

Those two Capcom games better be dissapointment's or games I don't care about. If it's a fighting game or a sequel to Dino Crisis 3 I'll be pis*ed. There's a good reason why Capcom is supporting the ps2. Everyone wants to make money and developing games for the all mighty ps2 is the only way you'll get a hold of that money. I was hoping to see capcom's plans for GC. None of their games sold on Ghay box and I don't see why they're wasting their time with a console where their games won't sell. GC on the other hand is not doing great but better than Xbox. The Remake solda about 470k and Resident Evil Zero about 370K. Those are pretty good numbers. Viewtiful Joe pushed 200 units which is average. Porting Onimusha 3 to the GC would be a smart move. GC owners are into those kind of games. It would easily reach 300k.

Ack, lay off ya fanboy. Xbox hasn't gotten anything good aside from Steel Battalion, from Capcom.
It's time for Capcom to bring something good to Xbox. And by the way, Dino Crisis 3 sucked Link, no need to be :):):):)ed if Xbox gets that ;).

I just don't like seeing capcom's games on xbox. I love pretty much all their games. I never played Dino Crisis 3 but I played the first 2 and they were awesome. Onimusha is a great game that shound't have been part of xbox's library. It didn't sell too well. I'm just hoping these two new games won't be sequel's the existing games such Devil May Cry, Onimusha.

If it's a sequel to devil may cry, it's going to playstation 2 because it's a playstation 2 only exclusive, meaning, no, sorry gcn and x-box fans, your not getting it. :P
I would like to see a new game, but knowing capcome it will probably be a rehash...
X-box will probably steal away gcn's exclusive re0...lol.

All good games should be a part of Xbox's library. Samething with GC and PS2.

I think he's made because all the gcn capcom exclusives sucked...
The only good one was viewtiful joe, and that's going to ps2 now.

Hey, only one sucked: P.N.0.3. Many, I was so anticipating that title. That is what was supposed to get me back into GC. I played the demo once, it sucked. I heard reviews that it was a bad game, I refused to beleive them. I played the full game at a Gamecube demo kiosk at GameStop, and IT STILL SUCKED! Lucky for me, I was starting to like Sonic again anyway and just bought SADX.
Then, Pheonix got canned, Viewtiful Joe turned out awsome, and the final two aren't even out yet :?. I heard Pheonix may be back in production in some way.

Re zero sucked big time, you can't convince me that was a good game, that game had "rehash" written all over it.
Plus the re remakes wans't all that, I was kinda dissapointed with it actually, to find an old game, with better graphics, and the same crappy control scheme.

Ah, sorry, I thought you were commenting on the Capcom 5. Yeah, I've heard bad stuff about those Resi games. Not being a horror fan myself, I haven't played em. I heard the first one was awsome though.

Sonic adventure dx is another dissapointment....
Sonic Adventure was one of my favorite games for dreamcast...
When I heard it was being remade for gamecube, I though, cool, Great gameplay Sa, now with the cool graphics and game mechanics of sa2b...
Needless to say, I was excited...Espesially with the news that the graphics were going to be better then sa2b, and it was going to have the game gear games too...How could I lose.
Well, I finally get one of those preview discs, that had viewtiful joe, billy hatcher, splintercell, sould calibur 2, and sonic adventure dx, and I was surprised how glitchy it was, the framerate was all wackey, there was slowdown, alot of slowdown, and clipping problems...
So my first thought was, well, this is the demo, I'm sure the final version will be better, but guess what, it wasn't...
The game that I was hoping to run at a constant 60fps, ran at 30fps with huge amounts of fluctuations.
The game I thought would have less slowdown then the dreamcast version, had even a bit more.
The game that I though would look better then sa2b, didn't even come close in detail....
What a crappy remake...

dx wasnt a remake it was a enhanced port according to sega.
anywho... this is good. It shows that these japanese companies realize that regardless of the xbox poor performance in japan overseas it's hard to ignore the fanbase.

Dx was a remake, it turned out so crappy sega probably at the last minute to declare it an "enhanced port"...
And there was nothing enhanced about it, granted the character sprites looked better, but the game was too glitchy.
It's pretty sad when you'd rather play the original dreamcast version, then an "enhanced" version for gamecube.

Stop taking a page out of the Gauntlet way of debate and make up statistics for games u like/dislike.
Vj didnt push 200k. If you have a chart that says otherwise, please bless us with it. Otherwise, go to the arcade forums and look at the NPD chart for november. VJ didnt even make it in the Gamecube top 10 and it came out in october.

Well given the names of the developers listed. I think I know what to expect from a couple of the developers
Fromsoftware:
Otogi 2
Namco:
Breakdown
SEGA:
Headhunter redemption (also on PS2)
Tecmo/Team Ninja:
Dead Or Alive Online
But I am unsure as to what the other developers have up their sleeve. But it is nice to see that the XBOX is getting some attention. Especially from SEGA. Headhunter was rather quickly ignored no thanks to the fact that it released too soon after Metal Gear Solid 2. But this time, the game may stand a fighting chance if it is spaced out well enough. Jack Wade deserves another chance at making an impression on the gaming universe. Anyways, the XBOX could use some Japanese support to further drive sales. Just look at what Ninja Gaiden did for the system this month.

What? Getting some attention from sega?, now correct me if I'm wrong, but last I checked most of the more new original titles have been appearing on x-box one after the other...
In fact, the only 2 systems that get the real love by sega are ps2 and x-box...Gamecube is the system often ignored...
For the most part, the games for gamecube are just enhanced versions of dreamcast games...What do you have after that....you have monkey ball2 and billy hatcher...

Zero, a remake is like, rebuilding a game from the ground up. An enhanced port is just bringing a game to another console with a few changes. SADX was an enhanced port.

lol, sorry "supposed to be enhanced" port. The character models were redone, the levels were made a bit more colorful, and they added Game Gear games and an improved menu.

The characters were going to look better, and the graphics on the whole with better frame rate and smoother textures plus new stuff to the story, yeah I thought it would be a remake....Sounds reasonable, seing as though most remakes are basically just that, better graphics and a few additions to gameplay and content.
But how it turned out it just came out it came to be was basically a game that played like the dreamcast with more stuff in it, so yeah, it turned out to be a crappy enhanced version.

1)Jon Blaze...Darklink was nearly correct. In the U.S. Viewtiful Joe moved 188,000 copies. You can go here to back up that statement. http://www5e.biglobe.ne.jp/~hokora/gcranka.html
If you add in The Japanese sales then the game did more than 200,000 copies. But I assume that Dark Link was refering soley to America
2)Zeronnumber...SEGA has given the Gamecube Phantasy Star Online Epsidoe I-III as well as Beach Spikers, Skies of Arcaida Legends, Super Monkey Ball and by the end of the year, Virtua Fighter Cyber Generation.
