If you try to fuse the Sonic games into one cohesive storyline, it becomes too confusing. I know, I'm doing precisely that for a Sonic message board RPG I'm building, and I've had to make some pretty odd changes to make sure that I fit the storylines of every Sonic game from 1991 to the present.

And about Eggman becoming good... that's not true. He helped the guys is SA2 because of one thing. He wants to rule the world. Shadow was planning on destroying the world. If the world is destroyed... what would Eggman rule?

Sonic Heroes, he was just as evil as always. MetalSonic just kind of stole top spot from him, and Eggman only joined the heroes to destroy a greater threat. It's not an uncommon thing for a villain to do.

SA- Helped to try to stop Chaos, but it was more through vengence on Chaos.
SA2- Wanted to destroy the world for himself, thus he saved it, so he could.
SH- Couldn't let Metal SOnic take his place

Okay... In SA2 it was either help or get killed. Lets see what else he did in that game. Put a gun to Amy's head as a hostage. killed sonic, threat everyone on earth about the government. Almost destroyed the earth till it backfired and he would have gotten killed also. Destroyed Prision Island (I don't care what they say, not even in the cut scenes or sonic x did you see a single prisoner escape, GUN left all the prisoners to die.) And I dont even think that was half of it.

Point is, he was forced so he was very evil in that game. Why didnt he do anything in the end? It would have ruined the moment, he has feelings to you know.
