Yeah it is a great game. Most reviewers thought it was a better game than SOA. I thought it was a bit better. But sadly it gets lost behind all the SOA hype.

Grandia 2 kicked :):):). Skies of Arcadia kicked :):):). They are both great games, neither is better than the other because they differ quite a bit and are both great in thier own way.

grandia 2 had the BEST battle music omg it was soo cool it gets really good 1:40 into it
eternal arcadia had a great battle song also but it was completely different
these 2 games remind me of the dc alot

I wouldnt go as far as to say Grandia 2's graphics sucked. I personally though Grandia 2 had more detail but Skies of Arcadia was more pleasing to the eye.

grandia II 's graphics were just a little blocky. guess not many polygons.
but i dont mind the graphics cause its still a great game.

Grandia 2 is one of the best RPG's out there. Its on PC, Dreamcast, and PS2 so there really is no excuse for any RPG lover to not have it. Though from what I hear the Dreamcast version runs the smoothest and looks the best, naturally because it was MADE for the DC.

I`m just assuming. I think they like to make just one episod per gen, they made one for Sat and PS then another DC and PS2(Grandia Xtreme), so I assume they`ll be making one for the next gen too.

you MUST buy it for DC. I've never played the PC version but I only hear bad things about it. Anyway YOU MUST BUY IT, INSANELY GREAT RPG with plenty of customization of spells, abilities and such.

:):):):) I didn't have to up anything on Ryudo. I maxed out everything on him. HP: 9999, MP: 999, SP: 999. I also maked out his ACT, DEF, etc. to 999. Also his stats such as Mag, and Agi, all to 999. Beat that!

nope, I also had him at LV.99. It wouldn't go any higher than that. Trust me dude. I had me so strong he didn't get hurt in battle and I beat Melface the first time. It was a breeze. Also hes so fast in battle that u can barly see him.

As I see the game discs of Grandia 2 in my CD case (I have all 3 versions), I think to myself "Boy, is this game overrated". Sure it's a good game and it can be fun, but the music is corny as **** and running around through maps and dungeons can get kinda boring. It's good, but nowhere near being great...

I would get the impression that you thought the game was great because you had ALL THREE VERSIONS. I think the game is great and will still only use ONE version. Why would you buy a game THREE times if you only thought it was good?

Anyway, since you own every version, did you beat every version? What differences are there?

I played through like halfway of the DC version 2 years ago.
The only differences I saw between versions is that the PS2 version looked cheaper than the DC version due to laziness of Ubi Soft. The PC version was good but it had restarts and lots of errors and plus the controls kinda sucked even on 3rd party accessories. I liked the PC version the least.

The only differences that I have heard of is extended or more CG on teh PS2 version, never heard much of the PC version.

the PC version is exactly the same as the Dreamcast version.
The PS2 version uses MPEG 2 FMV clips (that's super sharp FMV to you)
the PC and DC versions use software codecs.

as rocktastic as Grandia II is, it is overrated among the DC community. I wanted to pop my ear drums when I first heard the music.
Yes I loved it, proud as hell to have it in my collection, the game move me like no other game has to this day.

I just got the first Grandia (Sega Saturn import) about a month ago on eBay for crazy cheap. They were sellin for like $4.00!! But I can't read a lick of Japanese so I'm using a FAQ to get through it. Though if you played Grandia 2 first (and I did!) you can piece things together pretty well as far as menu use goes.
Anyways, Ryudo is not in the first one. The first one is about a boy named Justin who wants to be the best adventurer in the world. He's from a place called Parm. In the beginning, its Justin and Sue adventuring together. But near the end of the first disc (that's right, its a double disc rpg!!) you lose Sue. This is cool, cause she really lacks in abilities until you get her magic up anyway. Throughout the game you lose and gain characters all the time.
I haven't finished it yet so I can't say much more on it. I am on the second disc now. By the time I finished the first disc I was already at like 40+ hrs of gameplay. Now I'm like at 70+ hrs and I haven't even come close to finishing it yet.
If you've played or seen the other Grandia's you will notice that the Sky Dragon Slash is in every one, even in Grandia 1. Though they may call it different things. Also many of the same spells are in all the Grandia's too. I have Grandia 2 and beat it many times over for the DC. I love it. Now I am playing Grandia 1 and its off the hook, for a Sega Saturn game of course.

Grandia Digital Mueseum (actually a game, dont be fooled by its title) is on saturn.
Grandia II is on DC, PS2 and PC.

Has anyone played this?I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!!!
I've played it and loved it. Definitely one of the greatest Rpgs of all time. Not only for its cutting edge battle system, but for its story. Sure it was basic but it was still deep. Basically the moral of the story deals with the good side of humanity in the very end.
Some of those boss fights can actually last over an hour if you continually power down the bosses, and constantantly keep your party powered up. Try it, its fun as hell! 8)
Oh and even though Dc is technically dead, I'd strongly advise anyone who really wants to definitive version of this game, to hunt down an old Dreamcast and pick up the original Dc version of this game. The Ps2 version flat out sucks. If I didn't sell my Dc, I'd still bust it out for this game!

There was Grandia X for Ps2. Basically just a dungeoun crawl. The story kinda sucked but the combat owned! Still a fun game, especially if you love the battle system as much as I do.

I guess in certain ways you can say that. But the reason why its sub par compared to grandia 2 is because of its story. It really wasn't very good. There was also alot more attention to detail when it came to customizing each character. Oh and the Mana Eggs too.
Although I'm not very big on Rpgs, I love a good one once in while. If and when Grandia 3 is ever developed I hope its developed for the Xbox or Gc from the ground up. It would be a much better game then if it ported from the Ps2.
