How bad is the cheating lately?

I haven't received a single user abuse report in 2 days so I'm assuming it hasn't been bad: I've read a lot of griping about cheating but I haven't received reports so please let me know if it gets worse. Its probably easiest to send abuse reports to me, so I can send them to Sonic Team in an organized fashion. All of the abuse reports I have received were immediately sent to Sonic Team.

When reporting user abuse, please report all the information you can, including

Location: Ship and Block.
Time: PLEASE INCLUDE TIME ZONE!
Username: EXACTLY how it appears onscreen: pay close attention to caps and text symbols.
Guild Card number: This is very helpful, although we realize this is hard to get.

Optional: Screenshot of the offending complaint [For symbol chat/language] (Some of the more hardcore users may know how to do this)

Without a complete report, we don't have a case to ban users.

I dont think its as bad as it could get but over time on ep1,2 has progressivley gotten worse..Ive read most of the topics but i dont think people understand how and why sega cant ban right on the spot and stuff sooo... :?

1. we (Sega of America) can't ban them; we just run this site. Sonic Team is in charge of that stuff

2. they can't just ban on heresay: users can maliciously name other users.

they need a report in order to ban a user (see above).

One thing Sonic Team has told me is that the more information the report provides, the more likely they can act on it. Keep the reports coming.

yup and with all the reports coming at once its kinda hard to tell which ones are fakes and which ones they need to act on..and they want to be totally sure about it before they ban someone..

Also, if you're filling out a report on an abuser and you have been affected by that user abusing the game in the past, make a note of it and try and fill out what you can regarding the past abuse.

IGN's PSO board once called in TWENTY-FIVE complaints against a user that was lobby spamming and causing people's games to lock up (you probably don't even know what that means). And he was NOT BANNED. All had his guildcard number and reported the time of offense, and NOTHING was done.

You cannot say this will make a difference.

Allocate some of that HL money (which is 3x what JP players pay, btw) and hire some moderators. We shouldn't have to pay for your game AND police it. Please do a better job.

lol yeah and plus we dont pay 3 times what japanese pay the yen to american dollar fluxuates all the time making it go up and sometimes down but it will never go over the amount that it says on your HL..besides sega cant make more good games if they are stuck on a game from the past..and plus most people dont like to play gc all freakin day..and all week for months on end..thats just 1 reason why moderators wont work on PSO

You know what I want to see? Some good old fashioned banning. Some permanent account cancellation. You agree to a TOS (terms of service) when you sign into the game and it stipulates, quite clearly, that if you do anything which degrades the experience of, or offends another player you can be banned.

Literally every time I sign in, I see an endless wave of profanity and juvenile obscenity. In the lobbies, in the games, it’s everywhere. At times it’s been impossible to actually use the counter in the lobby due to all the screen-spam going on.

Yet, for some reason, to the best of my knowledge there is very little enforcement of the TOS. Players seem to be able to get away with whatever they wish with no penalty of any kind. If there was some enforcement of the standing TOS, most of these problems would go away.

It can’t possibly be that hard. Every copy of the game has a unique S/N, and every subscriber has to provide detailed personal information when signing up. Match the character name to the game S/N and you know who’s to blame.

Hasn't been much cheating... unless you count Vega... have heard horror stories about people rolling their dice to 99 and defeating their opponet in a hit... but I avoid Vega so I can not confirm these rumors... cause thats really what they are, rumors.... and as for the guy that FSODed people I got him back the American way... Guild card and all that jazz... oh revenge is soooo sweet! Otherwise I am quite happy keep up the good work.

On my hacker scale (yes I made a hacker scale =P) Anyways EP3 is rather in stage 1 right now really. It's very low and really just avoid vega (block 1:lobby 1 or just avoid lobby 1 entirely). Personally I've been fsoded twice and only in Lobby 1.

Oh good god The game is already in a shambles! You people are freakin blind! I reopen my account go to a ship other than vega. Deneb block 8 to be precise. Low and behold meet up with a guy named FSOD! Can you guess what the hell happened? you people who wear these blinders and kiss segas BUTT have no freakin clue. Personally, I avoid Vega like the plague... I prefer playing on Deneb and Antares anyway for the better EXP and because that's where my friends hang out, but even there you run into a fairly generoug number of jerks and the occasional FSODer.

One With Wind im sorry to be hard you. In the last 3 weeks on this game I got the Black screen of death on my gamecube which means it wont boot ever again because some idiot froze my system. I bought a new one and stay away from Vega and still get FSOD'd on the other ships. Thank god I bought the stupid Warranty. Now yesterday I called sega and just lost my mind yelling at some poor guy who just happened to answer the phone. He tells me to get screen shots of these guys. I said you know something? It's kinda hard to get a screen shot when your F'ing machine has been frozen HELLO! I begged him to get us some ingame moderators or please make the suggestion that sonic team do such. I did appologize to the guy for getting irrate but he needed to realize that he is a rep. for all this mess. Thats just what it is guys ONE BIG MESS! It's been a mess since the dreamcast and its a mess now. I don't think its going to be fixed. Who knows when somebody slaps a class action lawsuit against them maybe they will fix it.............................................


I am currently looking into this option people. A class action Lawsuit is what they need to wake up it might be just what they get. I will let you know what I find out. They have a responsibility to keep players Safe and equipment safe with a non abusive experience

Ok ok i dont wanna sound like a big shot or somthin BUT. me and Myria (Barubry MrsLoveRappy Marry Poppins) and Nugz (InfamousNugz) went around talking to ST reps in lobbys.(Myria can tell where they are... dont ask. any way we found one and said "Sir can we plz speak with you?" what did we get? a warning on the side of our screen. so what did we do? we left him alone until he came about again. again we said "We want to talk to you about us helping patch FSOD" and he left. now.. if any of you know Nugz. hes got quite the temper. so we went in and kinda pursisted. fact is i dont think sonic team themselves cares about what WE the players have to say. ive reported to Big serveral times. if they were sent to sonic team big could at least give us conformation personaly that they have.

For everyone who are trying to get the FSODer cards watch out, I heard that they do send their cards out, but they freeze you while it save, so it can corrupt you also.

Be very careful when accepting a card from any FSODer

This didn't happen to me yet, I just heard that rumor, but I would be very careful anyway. I usually only hang in VEGA when my settings are in japanese so they can't FSOD me.

But what I am scared of is that they find a way to FSOD people that have the japanese setting as well
