cds are a rip off you know that the music companies make sure thqt artists only make like 2 or 3 good songs and the reast is just filler + nobody likes each and every song on every cd that they buy and 15 dolars is way too much to pay for a 2cent disk

or you could download it and send a $10 donation to the band themselves :P since they'll only see like 5¢ of that $10 you paid at tower

Actually the band needs none of the money since Jun shenoe "day job" is at wave-Master(sega's music company), and each of the singers eighter sang, or still sing in other bands the currently make records and currently tour right now. If I'm not mistaken, the guy who sang "Escape from the City", who I believe(if I'm not mistaken) is Steve Augeri, currently makes records and tours with Journey.
The problem with downloading music, is that unless you own a reliable mp3 player, you can't listen to the music anywhere you want. Not to mention most Mp3 files only obtain a fraction of the level of sound quality found in a fully produced cd. Plus, you still pay anywhere from .60 to 2.00 bucks for the cd you copy on anyway.
At least if you buy the cd, your helping(in this case) tower records(an american company) continue to stay in buisness, and you end up with cd the totally roXX0rz.

Actually, Music Companies usually look for what is to be the next "one hit wonder", to rake in millions off of revenue, and later drop artist.
Nowadays with file sharing, that one song, that can be downloaded, stop people from buying that "one albulm", and thus stopped the marketing of Artists!!!.
Of Course, "ARtists"(I call them that, because "Bands" Actually learn how to play their own insturments, and write their own songs, not have a bunch of producers make their music, and song writers write songs for them) as well as music companies don't like this because, "Artist" don't tour, they need every single cent from record sales to live in mansions and live their rich lifestyles.
Britney spears and her label, often advertises against file sharing, cause let's face it, Britney spears has 1 to 2 good songs on her cd, and about 12 other fillers, and dares to sell it for 20 bucks. Does britney tour? no, she does shows though, usually 5 shows that pay anywere from 500k, to a cool million a piece, in huge venue. She doesn't go on "Tour buses", she has her own private jet to fly her whereever she needs to go, and pays for hotels. She doesn't work for anything.
So if you download her music, she can't afford a new luxury car, or another 5hundred acers to expanded her mansion. Britney Spears is an "artist". She was a broadway actress when she was 5, she was in commercials, she was a mouser for disney, and one day when she was 16, her mom took her to a production company, and they used her to make millions off of her.
Real bands can care less about record sales, because REAL band don't see sh/t from sales. A real band(People who take the time to find each other, take guitar/piano/drumming lessons, write their own songs, make demo's, work day jobs to pay the bills, as well as equipment, and music rigs), go venue to venue(no matter how big or small it is) and play shows night after night(sometimes every night), sleeping on tourbuses, trying to promote themselfs, and are lucky if the label will cough over 50k for a music video, and doesn't drop them for selling less then 100,000 records.
Real bands, don't care about making that "one" single that will push them over the edge, most "real bands" care about making the best albulm they can to please they're fans, not their pockets.
That's why I'm sorta glad to cough up moeny for bands that I like, that have more then 2 good songs on their albulms.
That's sorta why I like Linkin Park(sure they might not be the best band out there), but you got to admit, they work hard. To have albulms out that have 6+ singles a piece out of 12 songs(the others are just as good, if not better then some of the singles), plus they included music videos on their cds. They tour like crazy, I'm serious, even with the hybrid theory album, they toured like crazy to promote it, going on several differnt tours, even now, they are promoting Metora like crazy.
My favorite band, third eye blind are my favorite for a reason, because they rock. They are not above any venue, no matter how big or small, or do any apperance that will help boost sales. Each one of their albulms, have all songs that are single worthy, and since the band produces their own albulms, they don't have to worry about skimming through cr@p from their label to change or uphold some stupid image, and have benifited from it.
Hell, even 3eb decided on their latest tour to sell their tickets via e-bay, haveing sales start from a dollar in acution.

Actually, alot of bands credit file sharing for increasing ticket sales to their shows.
