I am having quite irritating problems with my PSO. It KEEPS disconecting. I would greatly appreciate some help. I have called the router company and they have told me that it is a port problem and I need to open the port on the router. I am sure other people have had this problem and if anyone can help me I would reallly appreciate it ...........

Hi there,
If you are having problems with your router the best place to check is the help section of Belkins website FAQ's at
http://web.belkin.com/support/kb.asp?c=1

The problems you are having could be due to a firewall blocking your ports, but its hard to tell without seeing the actual router lol, if this is the case you can access the config page of your router through your browser at the address 192.168.2.1 (just type it into your address bar and press enter :) )
from here you should be able to alter the port setup.

Do bear in mind that if you permanantly open ports you make it considerably easier for someone to breach your firewall and access your PC... This is not so much a problem with your Gamecube though :), but constantly changing settings could be frustrating.

Information and steps for configuring your system with Earthlink can be found here
http://web.belkin.com/support/kb/kb.asp?a=1074
and info on adjusting router settings to play games can also be found here
http://web.belkin.com/support/kb/kb.asp?a=2793

I have only skim-read these articles but they seem straightforeward, if you have any probs post back or contact Belkin directly on the phone :)

Hope this helps m8!

Also another thought has occured to me - in the PSO options screen (in game) you can set the PSO auto-disconnect time. If fiddling with the router does not help try setting the autodisconnect to max, maybe it will help :)

also if ur connecting via ur normal phone line and u have call waiting, u'll get dc'd when the call waiting feature kicks in. if this is part of the problem, put *70 in front of the phone number thingy that u use to connect (forget what it's called) in the setup screen
