But yeah, even though the treasure levels slow it down a bit, it's not like you have to bash through every dang enemy to get through the level. Plus Escape from the city is the coolest song I've ever heard in a video game

If your asking me which is the better 3d sonic game, I'm going to go with Sonic Adventure 2/Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. Why? Simple, Sonic adventure 2 follows what all 3d sonic games should follow and that is a strong sense of speed. Granted, a lot of you will tell me that Sonic Heroes has faster burst of Speed, but most of the time you have to come to a complete stop to destroy an enemy by hitting it several times. Where as Sonic Adventure 2, your always moving in a fairly fast pace. In terms of Gameplay, Sonic Adventure 2 is basically unchallenged.

For reasons being.
1-) Sonic and shadow stages are nothing buy pure fun and speed.
2-) Tails and Eggmans shooting missions are more fun and exciting then Gamma's Shooting missions, because it's not about how fast you kill your enemies and beat the board, but how many enemies you kill, offering more fun the aspect.
3-)Knuckles and Rouges Treasure hunting stages are shorter. A lot of people might see this as a negative, but who the hell wants to play a treasure hunting board in a massive level for about 10 mins, when you can breeze through a 2 min, small level, and go on to fun levels like Mentioned in 1 and 2.
4-) Sonic Adventure 2 has Arguably, the best story out of the 3. I say better(arguably) because it has the most serious story, while still being somewhat kindhearted and fun. It's a story any gamer(be young gamer, casual gamer, or veteran gamer) can get into.

What does sonic Adventure have to offer.
1-) A rather boring, and often Tedious Fishing game that pretty much plays like Sega bass Fishing(more or less), except, you can use the cool Fishing rod the Dreamcast had.
2-) A racing game for tails, which is basically a rip off, because tails is best known for his flying and swimming, and instead of being able to explore with these abilities, he's forced to go through some stupid :):):):) boost rings to try to beat sonic or egg man.
3-) Playing as boring :):):):) Amy, who is not only slow, but has an annoying robot chasing after her all the time.
4-)The one good game other then sonic(gamma) is too short.
5-) Annoying adventure Fields which are a total waste of time, and are cheap rip offs of Mario 64
6-)No rewards for your hard work. Hell, You work your :):):):) off, completing missions, and finding emblems, raising chao, and what do you get out of it? Nothing but a pat on the back, and meager bragging rights.

What does sonic heroes offer?
1-) Repetitive gameplay. 3 Stories, that more or less play exactly the same as each other, only really varying in difficulty.
2-)A cheap mission based mode with Chaotix characters.
3-) Lame :):):):) bosses. Let's face it, all the bosses are the same...They fly away, stop, you attack, and you pretty much keep doing that for about 5 bosses. Then you got cheesy team battles that all fight the same. Robot Swarms which, are basically, just a bunch of robots, that's it. At least in the Adventure games you got cool, and more varied bosses, like chaos, the biolizard, the King Ghost, Eggman in cooler robot suits, etc.
4-)Overall Lack of a good story. Granted story isn't really needed in a sonic game, but the little story added to the game could, and should have been better.

So that's why I think, sonic adventure 2/Sonic adventure 2 battle is the best 3d sonic game.

I believe that #1) they actually put effort into the story, making a separate story for each character, and making separate stages too. What I like is that every stage is unique to a character, even if some are based on other levels (ie Metal Harbor and Weapons Bed, Death Chamber and Egg Quarters)

#2) they did alot more with the music, as in theme's for every char, lot's of songs with lyrics, and City Escape *coolest song evar*

#3) OmoChao. Who doesn't like ticking him off, trowing him, making a weight fall on him, or shoot him?

#4) Tails voice and Eggman's new evilness really bites, it does...

Sonic Adventure was the best Game-play, the Gamma stages were alot less clunky than Eggman/Tails' he could actually jump more than 5 feet off the ground -_-;.

And the hunting missions weren't so boring in SA1 either =\ Much faster paced, as they ussually were in part of Sonic's stages. And how you had to find them in the order the game wanted you to.

*shrug* I liked the story in both games, but I'd have to say that SA was a more enjoyable game. (This is all my oppinion)

Dude, you can so beat Meteor Herd in under 5 minutes. The longest level is the last where you work with everyone. Refer to the 4 mission in all the levels. The time they give you is how long the level should really take you to beat.

SA1/DX is a good game. Sonic Heros too. Even if SH has long levels it's a great game.

I like the game SA2B WAY better then Sonic Heroes. Sonic heroes has the worst cut-scenes. I loved how the cutscenes were in SA2B. It got you way more interested in playing it. Also the levels work very well, because once you played both stories it made sence. Sonic Heroes is all the teams doing the almost exact same levels.

I havn't beat Sonic Heroes yet but, all I want to beat it for is the ending, then there is now point in playing it.

I can actually beat Metoer herd very quickly. I love sa2 treasure levels alot, and can beat all missions for dry lagoon and wild canyon in less than 1 minute, and beat security hall in under 1 and a half minutes.

I like Sonic Adventure too, especially tikal and perfect chaos, but Sonic Adventure 2 story, gameplay, bonus, music, 2p, and chao garden is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than heroes and sa
