How do I switch input methods?

I was typing in Japanese just fine, but I did something that made it switch to English only. I can switch between full and half width by presseing ~, but I don't know how to switch back to Japanese. Can anyone help me out?

Are you using a keyboard? If so press the button under the esc button, top of the tab button and left to the #1 button.( The button is written in japanese)

The ~ key, right? It's not the official keyboard, I have an adapter. When I press that it just switches to whole width direct input. (Still English, but bigger).

My language settings are in Japanese, yes.

Haha, you serious? I got it to work again finally. I plugged in a different keyboard and hit a bunch of buttons until it switched back to Japanese in the lower left. I don't how I did it, but...it works for now. S'all that matter :P.

If you are using a Japanese keyboard (ASCII/Sammy), this key is marked with 6 Japanese characters: 半角全角漢字 (requires a Japanese fount to display them on your computer) and is located to the left of 1 and above TAB.
