Hiya! http://www.netraptor.org/ and http://www.planetdreamcast.com/sonic/ have some good drawing tutorials. And as a little note from an oldie to a new member, be careful where you post topics, because if it's in the wrong section a few people might bite your head off.

^_^ It's nice to meet new people! Here's another tip. Practice! Believe me, it took me a couple of years to get the characters to actually look like themselves! So, practice a lot and it will come to you naturally! Good luck!

I'd say this fits more in the "random" section. Maybe even in the "Sonic games" section cuz it's about Sonic. Buuuuut, it's here, so who cares?

Well, this isnt the best advice but i draw some killer Hegdehogs (from the Sonic games that is) First find a pic of Sonic you like, next draw a circle. From there just look at the pic and try to draw what you see. It work for me, i just wish i could show everone.

What I did to learn the charries is by tracing them first, when I'm confident enough, look and draw, then slowly try to draw them without looking at a pic. Use guidelines to help with head shape, poses, and eye and mouth placement.

The only problem with tracing is that the chars come out looking slightly unnatural. It's a matter of personal preference, but the best way to actually learn to draw them, is definitely by looking and drawing. Trust me, you wont get much from tracing. I used to draw a lot back in the day, and I despised tracing for the reason mentioned above.

After you practice awhile, it's amazing how much better you get. My first drawing of Sonic really stunk -- looked like a spikey stick figure! Ya get better quickly though!

Try both styles and see what applies to you.

Amy, Rouge, and Tails are the easiest to draw start with them, or if you are a complete beginer I suggest you try Cream or Gamma.

I forgott about my hint, sry,(lol),mmh I started draw since 1988 (yeah I was only 5 years old) BUt with Sonic's characters in 1995 and it maybe hard when you start, I give you a hint, start draw easy characters like Tails,Amy,chao,..well draw that character is easy for you,try first looking a favorite pic about that character ,use a pencil and a paper and try to draw the same pic looking at the pic.Later see the original and your, never shall be the same, cuz all artists we have differents ways to draw so take your time when you'll draw,ok?
Good Luck! :D
