Sega + Sammy = New Console

ok start to look on the bright side of this merger if the 2 companies combine and Sammy is looking to expand in the games market to help with the decline of the pachinko machines then there is always the possability that they may take Sega's great knowhow about consoles and games and start developing a new console !!! that is if the 2 companies have not already started developement.

Sega and Sammy are to become stronger over the next few years so look on the bright side and remember the best is yet to come......

Sega wont make a new console for at LEAST 4 years. And there were rumors of that happening before Sammy aquired Sega. I dont think anyone is foolish enough to try to take a piece of the XBOX2, Ps3, Gc2 pie... Those consoles are so over hyped allready... Doesnt leave much room for anyone else.

very good point. the Phantom was hyped and announced long ago and even though it was announced pretty much before any others were OFFICIALLY confirmed it is still not as hyped and probably wont do well. Not wise for SEGA to make a new console in the coming generation. the next generation after the coming generation is my bet...if thyis deal doesnt fall through by then....

I'd buy it, too, just so Sega can stop supporting it 13 months later after I dump a ton of money into. Part of being a Sega fan is enjoying a huge corporation continually screwing you. And I'm pretty sure I'm not being sarcastic, who knows though.

LOL I know that feeling. I bought my DC in july of 2000 for about 400 bucks. The time you throw in extra controllers/mem cards etc. And after buying a ton of games only to have the systems be considered almost worthless in a resale sence less than a year later. Like hey I spent over 1500 on my collection and a few months later its worth less than 200. I`de never sell it though, and I do think I got my moneys worth out of the DC. Would I do it again? Probably not.

The Phantom will come out on Nov. 18. It will be free with a $29.95 monthly subscription or $199 without the subscription. I think the monthly fee will kill it off. Broadband service is already expensive, why pay $30 extra a month for a subscription?
