View Full Version : Best Windows Internet Browser?

I currently use Mozilla and I think it's way better than Windows Internet Explorer since you have to download a popup blocker to stop pop-ups. Still, some pop-ups still appear. Now they take up the whole screen with proper use of javascript. :x The look on Mozilla has a sleek future look to it compared to the boring grey of IE.
Theres other minor things I didnt like about IE, but nothing big. Is there any other browsers out that are good?

Well I'm using it now, and it feels like a stripped down version of Mozilla with a search bar on the side.
Now that the Mail software that was included with Mozilla is gone, Ill just have to download Thunderbird... :?

I like Mozilla the most. It's far superior to Internet Explorer. Mozilla implements CSS2, IE does not. And being free from Microsoft's ActiveX spyware prevents your personal info such as credit card numbers being stored in local cookies being stolen.

I use Mozilla FireFox on the PC, there is no Spyware, unlick IE. It tends to be slow at times but it's better than getting pop-ups and spyware all the time like on IE. I'd use FireFox on the Mac but Safari is much quicker.

It doesn't support multimedia does it. I couldn't get it to work on launch, espn video, of Ifilm. Is that its only drawback?

Mozilla and Firefox are both pretty good, but I much prefer Opera, and Apple's Safari. Both feel a little more... finished, and a bit faster. Mozilla and Firefox FEEL like open source products... they are good, but not quite as polished as they should be.
Opera has some great features, all of which actually work. The mail client, and other extras are pretty awesome for being included with a browser.
FYI, IE doesnt include the spyware or anything. IE isn't good really, but after SP2 (yes, its in beta, i know, shut up!!) it cleans it up nicely and adds a decent pop-up blocker.

Like they said, Mozilla is mostly the same thing. Netscape is just scummed up with AOL ads, and what have you. Mozilla is like ... way better for that reason alone.

My votes for Mozilla / Firefox. Tabbed browsing has got to be one of the best features. And the rendering engine is fast.

Mozilla is the best. Since it follows the standards, it's comfortably secured as far as forward compatibility goes. You probably won't see Microsoft turning around and fixing their bugs in Internet Explorer. All the proprietary misinterpretations and the lack of proper implementations. This prevents them from coming close to being able to support the newer things such as XHTML 1.1. I've done various tests with browsers about this. Mozilla, Firefox, Netscape, Opera, and Safari all support XHTML 1.1 when sent as "application/xhtml+xml". IE doesn't support it (and as far as I know, it's the only currently used browser that doesn't support it). On my old PC, I use Arachne 1.70 (DOS). It's what I first learned HTML on.
