The History of your name (username)

"Dias Flac" is a character from an old RPG I used to play. It was one of my favorite RPG games among many others at that time but I didn't always like the name "Dias" their were other characters I favored.

Before I played "StarOcean the 2nd story" (the game my character name comes from) I was a big fan of Mario's arch enemy Bowser. I didn't play online games back then neither was I on the internet but had I never play StarOcean that probably would have been the name I would have went with on these forums and in PSU.

Can you image me with the name "Bowser"? Anyway he is still one of my favorite characters. I use him in every party,sports type game (if not him then Bowser Jr) I don't use him in SSB because sadly he's not to good of a character but maybe SSBB will change that.

I want to know what made you pick the username you went with today. Whether its your username on these forums or in PSU and after you tell us your history I also want you to put the name of the user your interested in knowing the history of at the bottom of the page.

Hmm, well mine actually comes from my time on gameFAQs (way back in 2002). I needed help on Dragon Warrior VII and I couldn't find the answer in the guides so I was going to ask the forums. Well, I had an uncreative brain that day and combined my two favorite RPG series (at the time): Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy. I through king in there because I was an immature thirteen year old I thought I was 'all that' with RPGs.

Since then I've kept this name (although it's sometimes shortened to just DFK) and I rather enjoy it. I've attempted a few other names on other forums, but those never seem to feel right.

As for a user's name I'm interested in: none, actually. Most of 'em look pretty obvious (and/or I found out from being here too long). At least, for users here. Not so much the general.

Spuz is just one on thenotch I have. But it was one I made myself over the years.

My brother allways named me Spam when I was younger (as my name is Sam)

I got fed up with it but at the time had no nickname to play fifa 2002 online. so I called myself Spaz by taking the 'M' out and replacing it with a 'Z'. then after playing that a while, I realized how stupid that sounded. So I just randomly picked the Vowel 'U' and for any online games/emails etc after then I used Spuz as my main name :P

I could even go into detail about many other names but that would take forever so nah :)

Its funny what Spuz actually means... if you go to urbandictionary and look. check out what yours means 8)

Well, Logans Im name irl so you're gonna have to ask my parents that one. But the -, when I first got pso for GC I wanted to be a skyly and I was gonna name myself Logan but that was a pinkal if I remember correctly. So I went to the ID maker thingy on ragol.co.uk and tried thousands of combinations to get a skyly, and finally came out with -Logan :D

Plus it seperates me from every other Logan that plays this game, and theres a lot of Logans apparently

Hmm. Well. I used to do a lot of roleplaying on IRC, and this was the name of one of the characters I'd created back then.

The 'Aewyn' part comes from the name my sister made up for her main character in Chrono Cross (man that was a long time ago now) many years ago. It's also actually a woman's name in some Native American language, and a man's name in another. Heh.

As for Murayama, I just tacked it on there for wap points.

well, one time I was listening to some music by Aphexx twin. and I thought the name "Aphexx" was pretty neat. Now, I'm not one for copying, blatantly anyway :roll: , so I decided to see how I could alter it. Eventually, I came up with EphekZ. However, I really don't use that name anymore. I usually use "What?" my old pub name from CS. Now, I just use What? for most of my things, or whatrly when What? is taken.

Personal history of Agent D. is kind of lame really. My nickname growing up was Doogie on account of the fact that I was a huge nerd among my group of friends that were like 5 and 6 years older than me (Doogie Howser). I liked it, but I wanted something more ominous for playing video games. I was playing a Bond game one day, not goldeneye sadly, and when they said secret agent, I just said lol, secret agent doogie, and then, lightning! Secret Agent D. I just dropped secret, and viola, Agent D. ever since. That was about 9 years ago, so I guess my online name is pretty old now, eh?

As for online history of the name "Agent D.", idk really, never looked around to see what it would bring up. Coolness points awarded to the person who looks it up for me ^_^.

Man, if God dropped a penny on my head everytime somebody asked me how I got my online usernames, I'd outrank Donald Trump.

I have two that I use most commonly. Crocmon, xXCrocmonXx, and sometimes xXCrocmonPWNSXx are the ones I use for email. Ragnarok Knight, Ragnrok Nite, Ragnaroth, are all things I use for online games and their respective forums.

The former started when I was about six, and was such a Digimon freak that my parents eventually grew to the point of calling the series "Digishyt," "Digifreakz," and even called me a Digifreak. (All in a teasing manner, of course.) Despite the fact I grew out of it, the names of one of my fandoms kinda stuck. Crocmon was a half-crocodile, half-machine Digital Monster I made up, and I had dozens of "digivolutions" for that guy. He was a card... His metal arm could turn into anything metal, he had an extendable bottom jaw made of metal... etc. and had a blazing personality to boot. Well, now that I'm done reminiscing, I move on.

The latter name and its various forms, were created when I about ten, and heard of the term Ragnarok. (No, not from Ragnarok Online.) I heard it used as a synonym for the end of the world of Norse mythology. In it, one of the many gods (I believe it was Yggdrasil?) set fire to the Tree of Life, which supported the Earth's life. The Tree of Life subsequently burned to the roots, and the world comes to a violent end. I let my creativity twist it into ways unimaginable. Ragnaroth was the name of a dragon I added to the mix that acted as the Tree's Guardian. Well, of course, at the time, I had no idea of the Tree's involvement, so I threw in something called the Ragnarok Jewel. It was a jewel only Ragnaroth could hoarde (All dragons hoarde stuff, right?), and for various reasons. It was filled with corrupted souls, and an untold power. I threw a boy in there, and he discovered the jewel. While it made him super-smart, super-strong, and extremely in tune with the spiritual, (The perfect person, if you think like the Greeks) it cursed him. When angered extremely, he would lose all control of his actions and do anything to get rid of what made him mad. I think now, and a likely comparison is a Big Daddy from Bioshock. Eventually, the story evolved, and became a bit darker than a boy trying to find a balance between his dark side and his human side. It evolved into my current big story, Book of Ragnarok.

Well this name I never wanted but I've had to deal with for about 6 months because......just because. My original username, E102Gamma, came way back since the dreamcast days of PSO. I was about 12 at the time and had just played Sonic Adventure prior to getting PSO. So when I went to make my Hucast the was the only name I could think of. I went on to meet a few people and when I started playing PSOBB I decided to keep the name just so people would know who I was. So I've had the name up until about last December. :cry:

Captain Howdy is also a Twisted Sister song, and also the name of a sadist pedophile in the 1998 film "Strangeland", but that's not where I got it from, nor is it the Captain Howdy which you should associate me with. Of course, I suppose that Satan isnt much better, but it's definately cooler.

The irony is that I'd somehow managed to give myself an original name out of two of the most overused gamer names out there. My name comes from my FOnewearl from GC. I named her that in a rush as my cousins were rushing me because we wanted to multiplayer on GC. :P

When I moved onto BB, I named most of my characters some variation of Starrz, so it's forever stuck with me, evidently.

The reason why my user name is -=+Starrz+=- is because when registering to these boards I tried to register "Starrz" but never got the reply mail, as I was using an unsupported email address. So I lost that username. :[

Mentioned - Kalyna: Ukrainian for cherry blossom also a Ukrainian girls name. Very symbolic in Ukrainian culture.

Not Mentioned- Durak (Male Newman Force): Ukrainian for idiot. Always used this name at least once in recent MMORPGs. Reason why i first chose this: EQOA for PS2 wouldn't let any server have more than one name (Like there can only be one Shadow or Sakura blabla) most of the names i tried didn't work so i thought of a random ukrainian word and Durak fit the best.

My name comes from a manga series called D.N angel... I became soo obsessed some years ago for making a costume of the main character -Dark Mousy- that my friends and girlfriend started calling me "dark"... then another girl began calling me "darki" dunno why... and that's all ><

My main character name also have a story xD. Aura was the main character of the first manga I drew a lot of years ago, and she was a redhead werewolf, so, when I noticed that my main character was a female redhead beast, I deleted her to rename (it was only at lvl 10 so no worries <.<)

Zephyr- This one is rather amusing. Back in PSOBB, I was bored one day. So, for the hell of it, I was playing with character creation, and decided to make a RAmarl (At this time, I just made it because female with guns sounded cute; I knew nothing of the hax they were ;/). Well, let's be fair; I suck at making names. So, I sat there for 5 minutes, maybe 30, trying to think of one. Going through all these weeaboo names, and stolen from other games. Which I didn't really want to do.

But, lucky me. There was something on my desk to help me pick a name.

Koryu- This one is easy. It's my name wap'd up. (Cory). ;D. Long story short, I was told by a psycho-path(Xiralos) that naming my characters something close to my name would make them more personal, and allow me to enjoy the game more. Well, Koryu stuck since in PSOBB my main account was deleted, and thus I made this HUnewearl named Koryu. Funny, how she became my highest leveled.

Reina- I needed a wap name, and this sounded best. Simple as that. Was originally my RAcaseals name.

But yeah, I always frequent those names. Speaking of board acounts, this is like my 6th. The boards hate so many e-mails ;/. Also, I don't keep those names to a certain race (Like, Reina is my beasts name on PU, and Zephyr is my CASTs name). So, yeah~

Not really interesting, I just create names outta thin air and I wanted something that sounded "futuristic" yet cool a the same time. Kinda fits...
Cuga sounds a lot like cougar, and Stratos is just one of my favorite scientific name for whatever type of cloud it is... *I was considering Cirrus, but it seems too girly for my char*

Well,mine actually started when massive amounts of Haxeta was out and I thought to myself Im not going to use any of my money with my new character,and I was going to buy equipment and PA's with the money I recieved soley from missions and monsters.I thought to myself...hmmm since I'm starting out fresh and I have no money and no pas and no money to buy pas,why dont I call myself Uber Noob. Uber being my favorite word I learned from psobb. Uber and Noob seem to fit so nicely together.But my strike on my money didnt last long...I think it only lasted about 4 hours. :P So I went up and bought all the best stuff. :P (well at least the best for the time :D) Well and here I am today not so much of an "Uber Noob" I guess anymore. XDThe bad news is you used the wrong word.

In all honesty,I always thought it meant something around awesome or extraordinary,cause whne I did play pso friends would call great rares "uber rares" so I was thinking awesomeness. It didnt really "know" what the word was or what language it was untill some1 asked me if I were German. :P So I looked it up. And so my username isnt so inaccurate. :P

I got my name from the film 'Patch Adams', starring Robin Williams. I fell in love with the lead characters out-look on life and took his name for my own. I'll willingly make a fool of my self it makes somebody else's troubles easier to bear. Laughter really can be the best medicine sometimes :D

My name came from when I was an exchange student in Japan. Me and my host mom were sitting outside on our front porch in spring, at the beggining of Cherry blossom season. It was so beautiful, so serene. I asked her if there was a story behind any of the concepts of the Sakura, and she began to speak of many interesting and charming tales of the Sakura, my host mom was always poetic like that. After a while of listening to her, a petal fell down from a nearby tree. It landed right on top of our narrow walkway. I heard my host mom whisper "hitohira" which means literally "one leaf fluttering downward," kind of signifying beauty in diversity is what she told me. Ever since then, my characters name has been Hitohira, and always will be.

Well I started playing Phantasy Star Online for the Game Cube years ago.

( I have been playing Phantasy Star games since the Sega Master System )

But anyway back to the topic.

IRL my name is John, so I would always make my characters Jon.

Then the evil began:

Don't know how many others had this issue but my memory card would get some corruption error and all data would be lost.

After this happened the first time I was frustrated but still created a new character and began the war.

Happened again...BAH! I was pizzed figured I would never play again...three or four days later I again made a new "Jon" character and began the slaughter.

THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN.....I took like two or three weeks off...but couldn't seem to actually give it up. SO I AGAIN MADE A CHARACTER, but this time I had no faith, I made an all black character and named it spAwn

I never had the corruption issue again and have forever since been know as spAwn.

Well that's it, a tale of devotion, anger and eventual victory.

I just found this topic so I'm a lil late, I have a sort of long explenation for my name so skip if you don't really care (which I'm sure most of you don't :lol: )

I have been using the name Drake for the past 6 or 7 years (and not for online stuff either, that started later) as for how I got the name My dad and his friend used to study Wicka magic or w/e you want to call it and me and my twin brother where interested in it so they started to introduce us to beginner Wicka stuff,
He told us that we had to pick a name that we feel represents us and they had a book that has sort of definitions for what names mean, and Drake cought my eye and it stood for a person who uses his mind over his stregnth but can defend himself if needed and someone who leads people rather then follows, also Drake reminds me of Dragons and I like Dragons a lot ... so yeah sort of awkward but I stopped the Wicka stuff (wasn't really me) but I liked the name so I kept using it on online stuff and such, and I made a last name for myself "Erif" when Drake is taken, all it is, is Fire backwards... I like fire so it was a lame ditch effort to seperate myself from other Drake's :D

I got mine from a "Big D and the Kids Table" song...

Then my other one (that got banned, ironically) was "grimisdead" which came from the user on gamefaqs, "brendianisdead", who i got into a huge flame war with, and got my account banned over there. So, in his honor (from winning, and getting me banned) i named my account over here after him. It was more meant as an insult at first but whatever lol. The grim part just came from my nickname...so yup. :)
