When I saw the demo, it seemed to be NOTHING like the other PSO games... and I hate the fact that you can't actually "travel," if you know what I mean. There seem to be some good things about it, but otherwise I'm not sure If I should get it or not. Anyone have some opinions?

It is my opinion that pso3 is slightly repetative. If you can live with that and really like rpgs then you'd probably like it.
Also it's alot better online, so if u cant play it online you probably shouldn't buy it. :(

when I want to try a game I rent it first. but with ep III, once I saw it I wanted to burn it. it makes pso look like YO-GI-OH.

Usually, I'd attack my opponents directly and just ignore the creatures that they have summoned because:
a.) they pose almost no threat to whatever character I have on the board at the time. And..
b.) To kill your opponent quickly and with little or no damage to your character would guarantee you at least a C grade in the scenarios.
My character is already at Level 7, considering that I've only been playing the game for two days. Once I maxed out my character, obtained the rare cards, etc., then that's when I'll engage in some Online Battles.

Yeah, I've had many repetitive games in my past... Wario World, PSO, PSO Ver. 2, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, Sonic Advance 2, Metroid, the list goes on...

I used to like this game... now I hate it to hell and back for some odd reason...

You keep the same Guild Cards, and both games work in unison is serveral ways, it's worth it!

The fact that Sega turned one of their most successful franchises into "PSO: Yu Gi Oh" just shows how SonicTeam has lost their minds.

Bought the game without thinking. Next time I will think before I buy something.

gauntlet, just out of curiosity, have you even played the game? gaunlet bases his opinions on gamecube games off of reviews from xbox magazines. my guess is his only knowledge of the game is that it has cards. yugioh has cards. therefore pso3 = yugioh.

Xbox magazines? I don't think I've ever bothered to read them. Very biassed.
Anyway, no, zeronumber, I haven't played PSO ep 3 because I simply can't stand card games. And I wasn't telling the topic creator not to play it. I was simply making an observation. SonicTeam is really out of their minds. They turn a RPG into a hack and slash online game. OK, at least the game was good.
Now, with PSO3, they turn it into a CARD GAME? Give me a break, SonicTeam! No wonder this game didn't sell.

its worth it... well was when i got it.. then my friend, Raven leaked our secrete on how to get any card you wanted.. then the servers started to get... depopulated on the card areas.. but it is fun to play... most of the time.

Then perhaps Blue Seed for the Sega Saturn wouldn't be your fortay either since the entire combat system revolved around drawing attack/defence/etc. cards, but with some interesting anime cut scenes thrown in. Momiji is at a disadvantage in the Card Battle sequences since she can only draw one card per turn, so I always have to draw a Defence card for her at every turn. Blue Seed predates Yu-Gi-Oh by five years, and Magic: The Gathering by two.
For the record: Don't waste your money on the Yu-Gi-Oh movie. I saw the Japanese version a good year before the series ever aired on American television, and it sucked big time.

Don't worry; I won't. Yu Gi Oh sucks.

it basically depends on your tastes.
if you like card battles and dont care about repition combat, then this game is for you :)
but if you hate card battles, and hate repitition, then dont buy it.
