no sound on mega drive ultimate collection

Has anyone else come across this? I have bought the sega mega drive ultimate collection for the PS3. Sound ok on menu but when you go to play any of the games there is no sound at all. Already checked PS3 settings with Sony, all other games work ok. Changed settings within the game but no luck. This is my third copy and still the same problem. Can't believe it could be 3 bad copies.

After learning of this excellent Genesis collection from Stephen, I swung by my favorite brick-and-mortar store and picked up my copy last night. Excited, I inserted the disc and wanted to hop in to some classic Sonic action. I scrolled down to Sonic, clicked start and the game fired right up. Whee! The classic SEGA logo appeared on the screen, but the voice saying it was faint, if not completely unnoticeable. Sonic pops into the screen and I quickly notice that there is no music playing.
I hop into the options screen, but can’t find any settings related to the audio output. The audio bleeps from the menu’s are being output properly, though. I checked my receiver and everything was fine, but the audio was just not there. My wife walks in, and comments that it sounds like its coming from my USB headset. After unplugging the headset, the audio instantly pops out of my 5.1 surround sound. Seems that SEGA fudged the audio output from games and between the PS3 firmware and SEGA’s software, the in-game audio will be output a headset if it’s connected. Hopefully no one else falls victim to what seems like a bug in the game.

that's strange.... yeah it has to be a glitch. have you tried downloading the latest patch for the game? (if there is any?)
