Worse still, how do you get dwarf in full battle armour on a parrot faced lizard to drift…
Damn, there goes my hopes of Tyris Flair...Ah well...
Not that I have a problem with Gilius being confirmed now, but I always liked Tyris the best, and yes, for obvious reasons dammit.

Gillius is not confirmed. Read the blog again.

I haven't gotten much sleep, and it's 6 hours past my usual bed time, so I just skimmed through it.

I partially want Tyris because the roster needs more females, and they even mentioned female characters when talking about balancing the roster.

If they need more female characters they could always just use Alis or Red Ring Rico with the amount of vehicles the PS games have. Though if they used Tyris instead of Gilius for Golden Axe, I wonder if by the next Superstars game they'd use Ax Battler.

I love how SEGA loves to hint characters like Steve did at the end there...this is so much fun!
And what he said when they were discussing what the next SEGA All-Star game would be before they setteled on racing, Steve said...
FIGHTING! I was so happy when I saw that word. I mean, this whole All-Star thing is starting to sound like the beginning of an awesome franchise, and if a Fighting style is how the next one will be(if there is a next one, of course), that will be amazing! Honostly, the only cool way I see this is in the style of fighting that the Super Smash Bros series has, as I have trouble viewing some SEGA characters in a classic 1on1 fighting game like Street Fighter/Virtua Fighter. I loved reading every word of what Steve put up. :)

It'll probably be more like Virtua Fighter than a Smash Bros. ripoff. Sega has no reason not to use their proprietary fighting game as a template for it if they actually do make a fighting game. If they wanted to make a 4-player party game out of it, then they'd most likely take inspiration from Power Stone, one of Capcom's finest games that was exclusive to the Dreamcast. Besides, Brawl is a perfect example of how NOT to make a fighting game. Fighters are supposed to be about skill, Brawl is nothing but pure luck and circumstance. Completely lame.
Yes, I know, you're going to say that this game rips off Mario Kart, but it really doesn't. The developers have stated that it plays more like Outrun, another proprietary Sega racer. The only similarity is that it has items.

Actually, I wouldn't say this is a rip-off of Mario Kart. I'd just say its a racing game. I mean, it could be competing with Mario Kart, but from what I read in the Dev. Diary, thats not how it happened. If I were to compare this in any way to a racing series, it'd be Sonic Drift and Diddy Kong Racing. I bring up the Diddy Kong Racing part up because of the different vehicles you ride. Thats all I can compare. Someone could say all racing games are the same in their own way, but each game has differences.

It's at least more creative compared to other fighters.

I don't even consider Brawl (or Smash Bros) to be a traditional fighter so I don't care if it's skill based or not.
Anyways, this DD is interesting, I love these things, it really helps gain proper hype and knowledge for what we are getting into and learn our dev teams, keep it up. I like the whole early concepts they did and I'm glad they experiment with that. Are are going to see some of that stuff as unlockable content?

What about the girl from Phantasy Star? Oh, and he said "Modern" characters too. Who could that be?

Whose car is that? The one ahead of Tails?
I thought it was Beat's car, but the back end of it doesn't look like that.

I honestly don't care if this game turns out to be a Mario Kart Wii clone. Why? Because I like Mario Kart. It'll be like a sequel with new courses, and new racers.

I'd say Ax Battler (I was trying to find his real name again, but wouldn't you know it, I can't find it on Wikipedia) seems fitting for a fighting game.
