That machine gun analysis helped out alittle but and I was wondering if anybody made an assault rifle analysis? If so, post it.

Vendetta, your stats don't make any sense to me. The damage per reload on an assault rifle at point blank range should be the penetration number.
Here are the numbers I have for assault rifles which are straightforward compared to machine guns. The rate = damage per second.

That's because it's damage per unit of reload time (which I now know is milliseconds, so I've updated it to damage per second by slashing the reload value.)

Wow those thubans really pack a punch... but does anyone else have ammo problems with the assult rifles? When ever it comes down to killing a base, and I'm using a lighter Sal Kari assult rifle, I never have enough ammo.

Assault Rifles aren't really for killing bases.
I tend to regard the Thuban as a scout AR, rather than a soldier AR. They're a good weapon for providing standoff support.

I found that AR's don't do as well as some other weapons that can substitude for that weight. However I have had some successes with the WAR-3 and the new downloadable three shot AR. However even for a heavy Morskoj sniper chassis with a good chip, those give alot of kickback. I mainly use AR's for lighter hounds where I don't want to get in the thick of battle but stay at least at med range. 3 or 4 in a group is alright but anything less is becomes a heavy piece of armor.

Damage is not just straight penetration. If it were, MGs would completely rule.

Rifles are very good at hitting cores, and doing very good dmg, because there recharge time, is almost like a machine gun, to where you can fire all the time, non-stop, about close to a machine gun, and yes they have more dmg.
* Machine- Muilt targets, ACV killers, etc.
* Assualt- Keeps the person away, because the dmg Will add up, after 7 shots.
If you know what your doing, Then you'll see how good the assualt rifle is.

I think 3 or 4 of these grouped on one trigger is about the best you can do at medium range when you look at the respectable damage, relatively short reload time, and fairly high muzzle velocity.
