OK a few people wanted it - so here it is!
As a sweetener for the next tournament, I'll be collecting a mixture of donations to give to the winning team(s). The rules have now been changed after discussion with existing donators and potential ones - teams no longer have to buy in - although the 10mil team donations would still be appreciated, 2.5m per head isn't terribly much after all.
There are two types of donation:
1) Team donation - teams are encouraged to donate 10 million (2.5m each) to the prize pool. You do not have to donate to be eligible to win. All donations go towards the first place prize.
2) Individual donation - these can be donated by anyone, even people already in the tournament who have already team donated - if they feel like it. It can be any amount, as much or as little as you want. You can also specify if you want to donate to the winners, runners up, or semi finalist pots. I will also accept weapon donations within reason, but these will be given to the team leader of the team if they are won, for them to distribute.
To donate:
1) Team leaders should contact me and supply their entire teams donation.
2) Send a message to me here, or post in this thread, send to my gamertag, or through a friend - I'm not terribly difficult to find.
In all instances, I need the gamertags of all donators, including each member of the team when a leader gives me their donation. This is in case something happens with the tournament and donations end up needing to be returned.
I will maintain a list of donators (with or without GT, up to you) in the next post on this thread.

The prize will only be given to team who bought in, if a team who didn't buy in wins, the money will be returned to all the people who donated.I hope this helps.

Why doesn't this have a sticky?
I expect because it's unlikely to be officially sanctioned. Also since it's not a requirement making it into a sticky might confuse some people.

I probably won't be participating in the race however I would like to donate some weapons as prizes. The thing is: I don't want these prizes to go to the winners; they already have way too much stuff already. Will this be possible?

Not really - no one to play with on this garbage game anymore. May as well give my weapons away to people that NEED them

Trouble with allocating prizes to non winning teams is the issue of ones who might not have bought in. For example let's say the winners bought in, but the runners up and joint 3rd didn't (remember it's a tree, there's no single third place). At this point you're giving prizes to people who didn't even get to the semi finals.
The only way to get around this is to allocate specific donations to positions in the winning 'tree' of teams, and only pay out to those who bought in, returning any un-won prize money. I suppose to make that work I could accept donations aimed at particular places in the tree, but it starts to become a whole lot more work.
If enough people want that, I'll do it - but I'm only going as far as the winners, runners up, and semi finalists. All buy-in fees and anything not otherwise allocated to a particular finishing position will go directly to the winners.
The total hasn't been updated as I haven't actually collected the meseta yet from the people who pledged it, but it'll be about 120+ when I do.

It's the same map - team with the quickest time between 3rd and 4th place would be rewarded 3rd place. I realize they would not face each other, but the map for that round would be the same.

This kinda makes sense. The reward could be like an honorable mentions kind of thing.

LOL sounds like a good plan to me. If your looking for someone in need I could always help ya out.:D I figure the more prizes for all the rounds could bring out more players which we could use.

Teams no longer need to buy-in to be able to win - it's now a free for all. Still taking donations right up until the finals, and you can donate to whatever position you wish (but please note - there are going to be TWO third places due to the way the tournament is structured).

Look at the Team Rosters, pick who you'd think needs it and leave some lovely cardboard boxes stuffed with joy in their rooms?

Since we're moving into the semi finals now, if anyone did want to donate, now is the time. You can choose to donate specifically to semi finalists, 2nd place or 1st place.
See the second post for the current total, those donations were all made against the winning place though.
