I've talked to many people online and have seen many youtube, gamefaqs, gamespot, and
IGN forum posts asking about this and I too would like to see it!!! I figured since Iron Man
doesn't stay in one city/location, they could do it take a page from Destroy all Humans 2
when switching between locations. That would also mean an assortment of things the suit
can do(weapons and abilities), plus a variety of enemies from lowly soldiers to giant ones
(there's nothing wrong with a little respawn here and there.)I have both the PS3 and the
ps2 versions and I enjoyed the ps2 version alot more because some of the levels were
bigger, The weapons were a little more diverse (although I only remember War Machine
using machine guns but it was different), and some of the enemies respawned in about 4 of
the levels. I could stay on the same level blowing up enemies for an hour without even
touching the objectives (Thanks A2M)!! I sincerely hope that Sega is listening to us. I
don't know what Kyle Brink is talking about, but these are the only things I hear a need for!!

Couldn't agree more open the game up and mix the variety of the enemies.

Exactly. I believe it's all about giving the player choices. I may feel like shooting pulsed beam repulsors one mission, and solid beam repulsors the next with cluster missiles.
All they have to do is look at other successful superhero games like Spiderman 2&3 and Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, What made
those games great was the replay value and variety.... The free roam and the diversity in moves/abilities and enemies from
small and weak to big and powerful!!! They SAY in this sequel that they want to make you feel the power of Iron Man, well i
felt very powerful when I played the ps2 version and had soldier after soldier spawning try their best to penetrate me with
their bullets only to have them bounce off (with minimal damage of course). Even though it wasn't truly free roam or sandbox,
I could play one mission for an hour ignoring the main mission objectives and going around blasting and blowing up the soldier
that would keep popping up. It made me wish it was free roam, but I still had fun!!! It still bothered me when Kyle Brink said
they done away with power rerouting. Thats something Tony Stark would do. I want to feel like my 60 bucks paid for more
than just a 10-15 hour campaign beating on just robots.

I agree, free roam would my dream Iron man game, to the reference of destroy all humans 2, can you imagine how cool it would be if you could fly to the other city!? for example have the maps have like "borderline" that as soon as you cross it, a flying mini game pops up, having you flying at mach speeds towards the next city meanwhile ur avoiding F16s! CAN U IMAGINE HOW AWESOME THAT WOULD BE!?

Nem, I'm with you man. I don't know why developers go for the streamlined, 8 hours for 60 dollars, linear, watered down crap and expect us to not have a problem with it. I'm totally with your Idea as that is something I had in mind because I liked that about Destroy All Humans 2. It connected each city without being affected by hardware limits, giving you the feeling of actually flying around the world!! That's What I think they should do with Iron Man even without the f-16's chasing you. Even if they don't do it this way, give us some kind of free roam for added fun factor and tons of replay value. GTA wouldn't be what it is if it wasn't free roam/sandbox, nor would games like Spiderman 2/3 and hulk Ultimate Destruction. It doesn't have to be what we put here, but I just want them to be creative with it and earn there money!!

yeah seriously man, iron man can definitely be a free roam game, i mean its there why hasnt it happened yet!!T_______T especially since iron man flies at such high speeds, its kinda hard to do that in a confined space

I agree. I don't understand why we, just a few gamers can see this, but a entire development department for a single game can't see this. They frown at bad reviews, but don't listen to the players and put the work in to make the game at least produce an 8 out of 10 rating. Of course you can't give everybody what they want in one game, but look at what Iron man does and where he goes. Look at other games of this genre that have been successful. Look cross-genre and see what other universally popular gameplay types and features and try to implement them into your game if possible. That's how you touch a more broad audience, get better reviews, and produce more sales. Yeah story is great, but it's a one shot deal and nobody wants a one shot deal for 60 bucks. sure there are a few out there that will be foolish enough to buy a movie game just because they thought the movie was good, therefore the game must be also, but there's the other half of us that know better and won't fall for the same crap. If sega takes what they have done so far with IM2 and add free roam and variety to give it plenty of replay, I will officially come out and make this one of my fav games of all time.

Superman Returns was an open-world game and there was ALOT of flying in it, so I could see Iron Man 2 getting the same treatment.

Exactly!! I'm not knocking what they have shown us so far. Even though they took away power re-route control, I still see quite a few new things that they've done that has me a little hopeful and intrigued. If they haven't put any of these free roam elements in it by now, it's way to late for it. I hope that they have put something in there that we have listed to allow us to play past the "New Story". It's coming down to the wire now and we'll just have to wait and see.

Couldnt agree with both of you more. Theres a lot more potential in Iron Man than what they give it : /

A free roam mode would definitely be awesome,
but they could've thrown in a DLC of the Hulkbuster & movie Mk I
armors for Iron Man & War Machine's comic book/cartoon armor
& modern comic book armor for War Machine!
Not to mention a Bonus mission where you actually fight
the Hammer Drones & then Whiplash as the boss!
But that's just my opinion for a DLC for Iron Man 2,
I'm not sure if any of you would agree!
