Skate function not working???

Just got this game for DS, and I cannot figure out how to get the speed skate to work right. I press the left and right buttons like a madman and can't seem to go very fast. Any hints?:confused:

Well, to begin with, you are pressing them alternately (i.e. L, then R, then L, e.t.c), right?

In the case that you are, you're not utilising the boosts. In the countdown at the start, you can hold the L+R buttons together to get a starting dash. In turns, you can hold the L button down a little longer until an exclamation point appears to get a corner dash. You can also press L+R together at the final sprint to get a last boost.

I did all those things, and nothing.

Then...your L and R keys aren't working right.

Thanks. That makes sense. Events that do not need the L/R are working fine.
