do some of the games in this collection seem as if they're harder than the original cartridges or on the PS2/PSP Genesis Collection? Because when I played Phantasy Star III and Sonic & Knuckles for example, I got my *** handed to me on a silver platter more than usual. I never got owned that much on the original cartridges or the PSP.

I very much doubt that they made changes to the game as they are emulated.

I think it's more likely that you just had bad luck now, or good luck when you played them previously :p

Well, I think it has something to do with the control style. I'll have an easier time playing on a actual controller than using a keyboard or playing them on the PSP.

Still, it could've just been bad luck. Happens to pretty much everyone, really.

I haven't noticed any differences besides smoother animation.


Course, the last time I played this game I spent a week playing just the original Ecco, 'cause I've never actually beaten it until earlier this month.

I highly agree. I got SUGC, and then Ecco: Defender of the Future, and while playing any Ecco game, I went, "Holy crap, either these are hard, I suck, or games nowadays are easy."
