Marine block?

Does the marine have a block? In the configure controls, it says mouse 3 is melee, but in game when you hold it down, he puts it to his chest. I have tried it against other players but im unsure if it actually does anything. Anyone know the answer?

Yeah marine can block, On console its hold light attack and heavy attack at the same time. I figure its the same for pc but i don't know what controls they are.

He has a block. It works against light attacks only. A lot of times if you use it an it didn't work then it was either lag or the Alien/Pred opened up on you with a Heavy instead. That's one of my complaints really is that its hard to tell what move they are using. If you can somehow tell that they are doing the Heavy then you want to Melee them yourself instead with the Rifle Butt an it stuns em a sec. Also if you succeed with a block you might here a slight thud or ping if you melee right after you can knock them down sometimes.

Heavy attack and light attack? You mean, shoot and grenade launcher? Yeah that doesnt work, so im assuming it IS the middle mouse button. And from experience do you always open up with heavy's?

Only bad thing about opening with a Heavy is it takes like 3 times as long between the time you start it to the time it connects. And if someone hits you with a Light attack which is much faster during that time then you fail entirely.

As for the Mouse controls I dunno maybe try to re assign the keys if you can. I heard once someone say holding both Left click an Right click at the same time blocked.

Oh sorry, Its the same buttons as a Alien/predators heavy attack and light attack. But its not grenade launcher / shoot.
On 360 its RB & LB together.

And the attack i use depends on the species, If i'm alien i usually lunge and light attack. If i'm predator i use mainly weapons / Light attack. And marine shoot like hell : ).

#3 you can tell if they are doing a heavy or not, you have to keep playing to look for the signs. I know for alien they do it when they stand up and their tail curls upwards, the alien also does a recognizable body motion. I'm still learning when the preds do it but I know that they make a pretty big growl when they try it.

Marines can only block light attacks, and if they're hit by a heavy, they're stunned far too long, long enough for another heavy to kill them without ANY chance at all.
