Great article. We have a right to question. Ironic Sega call this Episode 1......Now I know how fans of the original Star Wars films feel.

I really hope this turns out ok. I'm kind of 6/10 so far........yeh from a few seconds......why because it's called Sonic The Hedgehog 4 that's why......we don't want one of the most classic series of all time tarnished in any way!!!!

When Needlemouse was launched last September Sega should have put to bed that whilst it is a game in the vain of the 16bit era it was a mix of old and new. But they didn't to maximise the hype and hope people just accept it. Some will others won't and I guess we will find out soon enough.......

This game was supposed to be for the old school fans. We're not hard to please if you respectfully stick to what has come before. Which as it stands they have only half kept that promise.

I'm an old school fan, I want modern graphics with the latest Sonic design, with the old gameplay.

If I want old simplistic design I'll play a megadrive game.

They said HD. You know what HD means? Not 16-bits. Numerous clues later told us it was gameplay they owuld be revisiting, not models. So your conclusion is wrong.

They promised a game that played similar to the classics. As of yet we don't know if they will deliver that but that is their goal.

They never said they were making retro Sonic. The hardcore retro pixel perfect fanbase decided themselves to fill those in.

However in a way they are the enviroments, the badniks and even some of Sonic's animations will reflect on the old games. The only thing you can't get over is the possible light use of the homing attack (which if its like in rush/advance u'll never notice it) and the model not been X model of classic sonic u like.

Alright, I've just aboout had enough. SEGA called this game Sonic 4 because of the gameplay. Just because it has modern day character models, doesn't mean it isn't for retro fans. They NEVER promised this game would have 16-bit graphics or Sonic's original model. You all seem to think so because:

A. Needlemouse trailer had classic Sonic logo. *Company who made it had no idea what the game was.*

B. The new banner. *You all just assumed.*

C. "Back to his roots" means original model. *What?*

You all need to wake up, get a cup of coffee, and appreciate what SEGA has been doing for us all.

There is also another thing that Sega Pointed out long ago that this game was the "First" Step Towards going back to his roots they didnt say this game here was going to be the Full Leap towards the Sonic of Old

its just that some fans here were taking things the wrong way and thinking things way to far out of proportion, its not sega's fault for this craziness that we see going on right now with fans literally attacking eachother over a Model Design and Grass its the fans fault for thinking things way out there and taking some of the words in a wrong way

If it doesn't come out very classic then it could be a massive mess up. Too modern would not please old skoolers. They played a big risk on this one choosing such a big title. If colours or free riders is bad wouldn't be great for Sonic series but a Sonic 4 fail would be worse.
