Sonic CD takes place after Sonic 1 but before Sonic 2, while Sonic 4 takes place after Sonic and Knuckles but before Sonic Adventure. Plus in Sonic CD Sonic is learning his Spin Dash still, while in Sonic 4, Sonic is using his homing attack.

Similar to Sonic CD? Dear God, I hope not. Don't get me wrong, it's a good game, but neither the level designs nor the art style do I want to experience in a second game.

I really want to get Sonic CD as I've never played it. Shame the PS3 slim doesn't play PS2 games now as there is a collection that included CD on it. Maybe Sega will do something for Sonic's 20th next year.
If there was a sequel to Sonic CD it would be called...........
Sonic DVD - on Xbox & Wii
Sonic BluRay - on PS3

One of the things I liked from Sonic CD was how you could hold Down and Jump for a spin dash, but you could also hold Up and Jump to charge up a normal run. I hope that carries over.

Actually, to my knowledge, the only collection with CD on it was the Sonic Gems Collection, and I've only ever seen a GameCube version of that.

Honestly, Sonic CD's story was so off from the originals that i didn't even put it on the time line...i just kept it in the back of my mind that it was there haha. I just hope they are similar in the sense that they bring the same atmosphere and music especially.

I always saw CD as Sonic 2.5 But a Story really doesnt matter in a Sonic game. Bald guy terrorizes nature, Blue creature takes him out.
IT'S LIKE AVATAR RIPPED OFF THE SONIC GAMES!
Or not.

That would be great if they did.

wait, the Adventure series is a different universe than the Originals right?
because none of those stories are any good and they dont make sense (i.e. there are humans mixed in with bobble headed animals.)

In fact, a lot of the stories early Sonic games have inconsistencies making it hard to put in a definite time line or say they are really connected to each other on a whole.
